Our oldest brought this book home from school and begged to go buy some modeling clay so she could practice what she saw in the pages. She used her allowance money to buy it and then spent hours making rather fantastic creatures. The instructions were very simple and the animals that she made were very much like the pictures in the book. We really liked this book.

Great book for "clay" week in art homeschool, with cute projects that range from cartoon-ish bugs to realistic birds, shark and giraffe.

My daughter noticed a wonderful detail when she paged through - the hands that do the projects have different skin tones!
