About the author

André Letria was born in Lisbon, in 1973, and works as an illustrator since 1992. He won several awards such as the Gulbenkian Award, the Portuguese Illustration Award, Silver and Bronze medals in the 3×3 Children’s Books Annual or an Award of Excellence for Illustration from the Society for News Design (USA). His books are published in the USA, England, Spain or Italy, among others. He has participated in international exhibitions like the Biennial of Bratislava, Bologna Illustrators Exhibition, Sarmede or Ilustrarte. He has directed animation films and created theatre set designs. He participated as a juror of the Bologna Digital Award. In 2010 he founded Pato Lógico.

Nasceu em Lisboa, em 1973. Trabalha como ilustrador desde 1992. Ganhou o Prémio Gulbenkian, o Prémio Nacional de Ilustração, um Award of Excellence for Illustration, atribuido pela Society for News Design (EUA), medalhas de prata e bronze do Children’s Book Annual, da revista americana 3×3, entre outros. Tem livros publicados em diversos países, como EUA, Brasil, Espanha ou Itália. Participou em exposições como a Bienal de Bratislava,a Exposição de Ilustradores da Feira de Bolonha, Sarmede ou Ilustrarte. Realizou filmes de animação e fez cenários para teatro. Foi membro do Júri do Prémio Digital da Feira do Livro Infantil de Bolonha. Em 2010, criou o Pato Lógico.
