It's Christmas Eve and Jennifer Donovan is alone. A sudden, strong blizzard has left the mountain submerged in snow and closed the roads up or down, ruining her mother and sister's plans to come up to Jennifer's cabin. Resigned to keeping warm and entertaining herself for the night, she's startled by someone pounding on her front door--a handsome stranger needing shelter from the storm. Will is the opposite of Jennifer's late husband and awakens a passion within her that she welcomes, even though it takes her by surprise.
On a snowy mountain top hold up in a cabin, Jennifer Donovan nurses her lonely heart. It's Christmas Eve and her mom and sister can't get to Jennifer's for the holiday due to the blizzard outside. Just when she thinks she'll have a bit of peace, someone pounds on her door. Oh who could it possibly be...a man. Duh! He's English and a musician. Double Duh! Why do books have to be so cliche? They sit by the fire, they talk, they kiss, they blah, blah, blah. Seriously?!?! Thank goodness A Gift of Snow by Missy Maxim is a short read because it bored me.
I can tell by the description that it is awesome, that the guy is hot, and that the girl will end up having a good relation ship with the dude in the house. But I haven't read it yet but I'm sure it will be interesting. Can't wait to read it :) And I can also tell that her Christmas present will be in her bedroom.
A very cheesy short story, glad it was free. A woman of poor judgement and Will seemed like another mistake waiting to happen. I wouldn't recommend it. I only finished reading it because it was already late at night and I didn't want to start a new story so late otherwise I would have given this one the flick.
One more reason to hate first person narratives...Can't tell whether the narrator is male or female until a secondary character tells you. Also the writing was ho-hum and the female lead spent far too long talking about her dead hubby. Maybe that's cold of me but that's something you need to build up to...if there's no rapport with the character then what's my motivation to care? Dnf
Got this lil bundle of goodness and had to read it immediately. Loved how the herione realized finally that you can't control a person's actions and you can not make them love you. Love is unconditional and it's a powerful thing. How do I know I asked Will. Recommend to all
Cute little free story. Passed an hour, while waiting for the rain to stop. Liked the couple. Not sure about the characters point of view. Got a little confused at one point. Was it will or Jen speaking?
This was an adorable little read! omg, it makes me want a smexy boyfriend with an eight-pack. It sucks that its so short, but it's totally worth getting, reading, and maybe even rereading on a rainy day.
This story was short, yet sweet, and absolutely pitch-perfect. It's too bad that it wasn't a full fledged novel, but overall it was great. I highly recommend it..
A cute story though not much of a plot, but a use-you-imagination sex fest. I'd read more by this author is it was longer with more story and some character depth.
I enjoyed this quick short story. It was romantic and the plot was great. The details/descriptions were not amazing and it would have been even better if it was longer.
This was a nice short read. Didn't love it, but then again I never LOVE short stories, they're...well....too short for my liking. But I did enjoy this story.
