This revised edition of Applied Ethics, which has come a decade after it was first published, will consider the persisting issues and problems in the society in which our students are situated in. The world has changed. Thus, it is important that the young should be grounded in moral principles whose appeal remains permanent. The book has been re-structured. The first half focuses extensively on theories – virtue, obligation, utilitarianism, natural law, and moral value. The second half will concentrate on applied issues – social justice and political ethics, development ethics, world poverty and lastly, climate change. Hence, the approach is well-defined.
