Not as good as Chances or Lucky. I found the bit with Lennie and Claudia used as a plot device so that it would be okay for Lucky to cheat on Lennie. It made no sense, whereas Alex was actually interested in Lucky. Never was it mention how Claudia actually felt about Lennie. Useless plot point. Besides that (which really annoyed me), the book was just okay. I grew tired of hearing about the movie stars. What happened to Costa, Jess, Matt, and Steven wasn't even mentioned in this book except to say he was in Europe.

Ok, Jackie Collins is definitely my guilty pleasure. They say about her books: embarrassing to pick up, impossible to put down. I can totally understand why she is number 15 on the list of best-selling fiction authors. This series is so captivating all I do is flip pages like a mad man. Real page-turner for this hot-summer days. I remember when I read the first book in high school, got me hooked from the first page. I will definitely check this series once again from the first book.

Quite a good read! This was my first time reading Jackie Collins. Mass-producing authors can be hit-and-miss sometimes, but from what I've read here, she's one of the good ones.
There are numerous perspectives, but I had all the characters straight in my head despite this book being 4th in the series. All characters had surprisingly decent depth considering the 'shallowness' of many of their personalities. The story was good. There were no real slow bits, which is hard to do at 600 pages. Lots of 'naughtiness', which I enjoyed. The romances were believable and fun. The writing itself was very easy to read and well thought out.
I'll admit, this is not my kind of story. I don't particularly enjoy reading about the rich and famous and their sordid lives. However, I like to think that despite my tastes I know a good story when I read one.
A talented author and a fun lady who clearly cared for and worked hard at her stories, and yet managed not to take herself or her work too seriously.
May she rest in peace.

This fourth installment to the insanely juicy Lucky Santangelo series is probably my favorite of all.
In VENDETTA, Lucky winds up in the most precarious situation when her treasured Panther Studios is stolen right up under her nose by Donna Landsmen, the corrupt and evil widow of Lucky's old nemesis, Santino Bonnatti.
Although Donna knows what a lying filthy snake she had in her husband, she still has not forgotten the fact that Lucky took away his life and left her children fatherless. So she has every intention to demolish Lucky in everyway imaginable. What Donna doesn't know, is that Lucky is commanding, street-smart and just as hazardous, maybe even more so.
In the end we'll see who should fear who.

Compared to the previous three books, this story seemed a bit over the top in places. It's worth a read if you're a Lucky fan and want to see her go up against a female adversary for once. The style is still the same head-hop as the others, but I see how unfavorable characters are becoming less three-dimensional than the ones we're supposed to like. There are a few cringeworthy lines of dialogue (tw: transphobia) but I suppose that falls under the "product of its time" category.

Makes me want to be just like Lucky Santangelo. Badass, tough as nails, doesn't take shit from no one and strongly passionate. She is the character that leaves a mark on you. The lives of other characters around her are intertwined with her and it is a good balance. Although the book ending took a new turn, I'm happy with it.

This one was definitely an improvement over Lady Boss, but it still wasn't as good as Lucky or Chances. Nevertheless, the story was riveting, and seeing Lucky back in her element was exciting. I really liked the plot about Lennie, although I thought his story could have been a novel in itself--a sort of raunchy Robinson Crusoe. In any other story, I would have cheered for him to run away with Claudia, but this is the Lucky Santangelo series, so he's meant to be with Lucky.
Some of the sex scenes in this one were a bit too gross for me, particularly Venus enjoying anilingus. Likewise, some of the gender politics felt out-dated with the way everyone talks about Veronica the trans model. Considering how young the trans movement is, I found it best to just remember the context in which the book was written.
The one storyline that felt pointless to me was Bridgett's. She's such a boring character! And where the hell was Gino! I miss my sex addict gangster, damn it! All I can say is I hope he has a more prominent role in Dangerous Kiss, which, yes, I already purchased.
All in all, I liked this one a whole lot and can't wait to read more of the Lucky Santangelo series!

I first read this book back in 1997 when it first came out. It was funny rereading it because so many things have changed. It kind of reminded me how different things are with the internet and cell phones! I still liked the book, maybe not as much as I did in my 20's, but it was a fast read that I enjoyed!

I know I must have read this in the late 80s, but my husband recently brought a hard copy home from the free books Library. Being summer, there is nothing better than a trashy novel!
Lucky is back happily married to a movie star with 3 children her nanny is raising, as she takes over as head of a movie studio! What could go wrong? Read and see.

As always, this Jackie Collins was amazing. It took me a while longer to read than the others but it was still a brilliant read. I love Jackie’s tension building and her ability to combine sex, violence, thrill and romance into one long thought out plot line. Usually with lots of characters I get confused but I didn’t at all with this book. I can’t wait to read more of Lucky!

3.7 stars. Donna(tella) was an unlikely but worthy villain and the convenience of having her son kill her was well done. I liked how Lucky and Lennie each had their own (deserved) indiscretions but it didn’t ruin their relationship. Alex Woods was a great new character and I hope to see him in more books.

Vengeance: Lucky's Revenge brought back fond memories of reading and loving Jackie Collins novels. The lady may not be the world's greatest literary talent but she is a fine story teller and I like reading her. This is recommended if you like a bit of early 80s nostalgia.

Is it Shakespeare? Absolutely not, honey. But it IS filled with sex, drugs, murder and camp! Compared to the first three books in the series it didn't feel like this story had much plot - but I didn't even realize that until the last page because I had so much fun reading it.

Whenever I feel like I should give up on things, I reread this book. In a way, Lucky kind of dragged the boldness out of me. And getting reacquainted with her every time just makes me feel like I can take up anything.

In true Jackie style this book delivered suspense, sex and a smorgasbord of spicy and intense characters. If you’re looking for an easy read that’ll suck you in every step of the way then this is the book for you ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥

By far THE BEST book of the Lucky Santangelo series!!
Introduces interesting characters, the book never gets boring!
I also love how often Lucky shows up in this book. I am loving & admiring Lucky Santangelo even more as each novel progresses. <3
