Edward McKendree Bounds was a Methodist minister, revivalist, author and lawyer.

Unsuccessful in the California gold rush of 1849, E.M. Bounds returned home to Missouri and became the state’s youngest practicing attorney at age 19. In his early twenties he was deeply impacted by the Third Great Awakening, and at age 24 he was ordained for ministry. During his lifetime he pastored churches, traveled as an evangelist, served as a Civil War chaplain, edited a Christian periodical and was a devoted husband and father. But E.M. Bounds is best known for prayer. His daily habit was to spend the time between 4 am and 7 am praying. His writings on prayer are widely acclaimed to be among the finest of any author before or since.

Satan is real and he is out to destroy you and keep you from the goodness of God. That being said, this book illustrates Satan's favorite tricks and the scripture that counteracts them. Although it was written close to 100 years ago, it is very relevant to issues in our modern church.

Although I have yet to finish this book (with intent on finishing tomorrow or Tuesday), the author tackles every key aspect of WHO we are warring against, WHAT to look out for, and HOW to get ready for battle.

All of these supported by the Word of Yahuah. Most would see this aspect as redundant, but why so?
The Word of Yahuah gives and brings life. It is life itself. It is Yahusha (Jesus). The ideas are only put into his own words, yet are supported by what is timeless, true, and the evidence is always before us:
The very world we live in.

It takes repentance and for the veil to be removed from the eyes in order to grasp the concepts being presented.

This book was recommended by my pastor. After reading a Christian fiction book that featured demons, I was curious as to what exactly is the truth about the enemy and what exactly he is allowed to do. I appreciated the way this book delved into this topic without being overly technical and hard to read.

A practical overview of key passages and dynamics in spiritual warfare. Bounds wrote with more of a devotional voice than that of a biblical scholar. His works focused on applied Christian thinking in daily life and are characterized by a persistent call to holy devotion.
