This picture book collection of mini presidential biographies is a wonderful introduction into learning a bit about each president. They are written in a way that elementary age students can understand and they have many memorable interesting facts. I would absolutely encourage any parent or educator to read the entire series in order with their children to aid them in U.S. and Presidential history. My daughter and I have both learned so much and have greatly enjoyed them.
This is aimed at a very your reader, and includes complex situations but effectively for the audience without being too reductionist. I really appreciate how it covers Taft's contributions before and after his presidency, as his contribution as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court was significant.
And the most pleasant surprise of all, is that they only mentioned his weight once. That mention was during his childhood, and also included how he overcame that through charisma.
