His books have been nominated for five Lambda Literary awards, and he was the recipient of the 2010 Lammy for Best Gay Mystery for his second book, ECHOES.
He now lives in Kennebunk, Maine, with his husband and their dog.
Didn't finish this book. I'm surprised that it won a Lambda considering how little gay content there is -- mostly about a woman cop whose late ex-husband might have been a serial killer of little girls. Not for me at all.
AWESOME! 6.0!!! One of the best murder mystery/thrillers I've read in a long time. The tension, edge-of-your-seat thrill the last 30 pages will drive you crazy because you can't read fast enough! I absolutely love the relationship between Michal and Sassy. The story is incredibly complex and laid out in a thrilling reveal; the backstory and recollection scenes with Sassy never distracting, and only serves to drive the mystery forward to an exciting climax!
I can't wait to read the next in the series Second Chance!!!
IF you're a murder-mystery lover wanting a fast-paced, thrilling read - this is your novel!!!
David Lennon does it again! I loved this fat, juicy, mystery...In this one , we get a better understanding of what makes Sassy Jone's tick. Well, written and intense, David Lennon has me addicted to this series, he has diverse characters and this book will have you on the edge of your seat!.****Just love this book and this series. David Lennon is the most underrated author and I wish more would discover this author.
This novel had a vaguely entertaining storyline, but boy, is it terribly written. It's hard to imagine how this won an award of any kind. It's not really a good idea to kill off one of the murder suspects in the middle of the book when there are only two to begin with. The character of Alexandra "Sassy" Jones is every gay man's fantasy gal pal--a wisecracking, foul mouthed, dirty-minded Pam Grier knockoff--but alas, doesn't really exist in real life.
Sassy and Michael have to work together again in this second book from Lennon about those two New Orleans detectives. Sassy's former husband is a link between a murder 25 years ago and the present. But leave it to Lennon to fabricate an entertaining and exciting plot about those murders and all of those who were guilty of things. A great read
I liked this one better then the first but still have things I did not like. I also have decided I am probably having a hard time since I have read the blurb about the last book and it makes me like them even less.
If you're looking for a romance novel, you won't find it here. This is 98% murder mystery. Not saying that's a bad thing at all, but don't expect much in the heat index (unless it's a Louisiana Day) Dept.
This story is about Michel investigating his partner, Sassy Jones', Ex-husbands death. It isn't at all cut and dry but leaves you down many paths. There's so many possible players, ones you didn't even think we're involved.
