The heroine's brazen stupidity?

Ugh.



Who did I hate more in this clusterfuck:

- the infuriatingly dumb heroine Bell,

- her hoeish bestie Jackie who thinks with her coochie

- or the dumb hero who doesn't know what revenge fuck is about.



Seriously, I kid you not, I hated everything about this book:

- the betraying body syndrome,

- the idiotic characters who had nothing to offer

- the lack of any depth,

- zero chemistry between the hero an the heroine,

- the very flat romance

-the fact that they jump to bed right away

- and last but not least, how incredibly boring it all was



All in all, I DNFed at around 80%.

I was so fed up with this dumb shit, that I just gave zero fucks about how it ended.

It's not what I like in my romance stash.

Wow what a dynamic situation this couple has going on. Nathan and Isabella have a rocky start. I'm sorry I have to laugh while writing this review. I was just thinking how the kids when they get older are going to explain their family to friends. I'm so happy that everyone is getting along but the family holidays are going to be hilarious. Loved Nathan and Isabella and can not wait to read more from Shayla Black.

I wasn’t expecting quality but this went a little off the rails in the end with the OTT Instalove and ensuing drama. But I was vibing with the craziness of the first 70%. Thing I liked:

-“Who did this to you?”
-“My Wife”
-Breeding Kink 💦🙌🏻
-Dirty Talk
-Revenge plot
-Blackmail and Forced Marriage

So…it was fun, but a little too cringe at moments with lots of one dimensional characters.

Jason Clarke did a phenomenal job at doing this dual POV all by himself. I knew he had a decent female voice but this was a whole new perspective and I loved it.

This book is amazing!

The author has written this book excellently. I don't think I can actually find a single negative thing to say about it to be honest.

I loved the plot and the book kept my interest thtoughout the whole story. I was so happy with the ending. The main characters are really likeable and I really felt attached to them and I felt the ups and downs of their story almost as if I was a part of it.

This is definitely a new found favourite of mine and I will be re reading at some point.

Only think I will say is it is quite a spicy book so I would bot reccomend to under 18's.

Nathan is bitter and out for revenge against his business partner who stole money from him and his ex-wife who cheated on him with that business partner. Nathan thinks the way to do that is to get close to the business partners daughter. Isabella is just out of college and has found that her boyfriend is cheating on her. So when she goes to a party she meets Nathan who she ends up going home with but he is hiding something. Enjoyed

This was surprisingly good. I was listening to the audiobook as a part of an anthology i have on my kindle called „Dark Holiday nights“. I wish the audiobook had a female narrator, Jason Clarke did a really good job, but him narrating the FMCs chapters was comical, especially when he was talking about his throbbing pussy and wet panties.
Also it was way too insta love for my taste. It had me roll my eyes a few times.

REVIEW: Tempted by the Bosshole by Shayla Black was a super quick, light hearted read that I finished in one day. It was a fantastic palate cleanser after just finishing a heavy, dark romance series. This short novel was full of fun tropes that were predictable and formulaic but that I still truly enjoyed. The workplace romance centered on an age gap, enemies to lovers, boss x assistant dynamic that was entertaining and fun to zoom through. Each MC was relatable and sweet. They each had their own emotional baggage to work through as they tried to decide if they had feelings for each other. The relationship did feel quite insta-love/lust, which is not usually my favorite but was cute here. The book started out with some sp!ce quite early and was included throughout the story to my delight. :)

Overall, I absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for a pretend relationship, contemporary romance with decent sp!ce. It is a satisfying, smooth read that is easy to whip through.

Bosshole? That is putting it mildly! I liked this latest by Shayla Black, of a revenge-seeking older man who has his heart set on exacting his payback in a very specific manner.

Isabella has just graduated college and applied and hired as a personal assistant at Nathan’s company. She had been working there for two weeks when she unexpectedly arrived home to find her boyfriend of six years cheating on her. She ends up leaving and going to the company Christmas party and meets a stranger who shows her just what she has been missing. But she learns just what the consequences of those actions were in the light of day.

Nathan is determined to exact his vengeance against his ex-wife Julia and Doug, Isabella’s father. The two had been having an affair and lying to Nathan about multiple things for years. And he is going to use Isabella to get what he wants. As her stranger, he shows her how hot things are between them but then when he reveals himself and that it was all staged, he leaves her reeling. Unfortunately, Isabella provides a bit of blackmail material for Nathan. That combined with his year of meticulous preparation to put his plan in place almost guarantees success and it starts by his forcing her into marriage.

I had a hard time with Nathan and his actions, especially after he realized he was falling for Isabella. And well, she is just wayyyyy too forgiving, much more groveling was needed – like weeks of it. Now it wouldn’t be a good Shayla Black story without a lot of steamy s3x and this one could light candles. It is a shorter read with age-gap, forced marriage and a bit of breeding thrown in for kicks. While the title refers to his being her boss, it really is only minimally touched upon. Mainly as a location for nice little dirty office scene as that dynamic is almost incidental. I’ll be reading this one again.

Tempted by the Bosshole is the 11th book in the Forbidden Confessions series by Shayla Black. Nathan Price is wealthy businessman who is bitter about an ex-business partner who stole from him, and an ex-wife who cheated on him and was about to marry that ex-business partner. He planned an eleaborate revenge where he planned to seduce, marry, and “breed” his business partner’s daughter, who was 22 to his 40 years. Isabella was a recent college graduate. She had just started a new job and had to make an appearance at her office Christmas party. She stopped at home on the way to pick up a necklace and discovered her boyfriend of six years in the shower with the neighbor. She subsequently dumped him and headed to the party considering the possibility of a revenge hookup. At the party she meets Nathan who whisks her to his house for the hottest night of her life. But the other shoe drops the next morning. I feel horrible saying this since I adore this very talented author, but, this isn’t my favorite series and not my favorite book in the series. I think the problem is that it is hard to write a novella love story with this big a conflict convincingly and it perhaps shouldn’t be used for a revenge trope. The problem is that after all the buildup in the relationship, when the terrible awful perpetrated by the revenger comes to light, there is little time to resolve the conflict convincingly. That was the biggest drawback in this novella where the resolution happens way too abruptly. That withstanding, it is a good story, just not the excellent story that I am conditioned to expect from this author. It also has plenty of the spicy hot chemistry that this author is known for! If you like a good contemporary love story with a revenge trope, this might be the story for you!.

Nathan is bent on revenge. He has been planning his revenge for a year and now is the time to make it happen. What he doesn't count on is Isabella. She is excited to start her new job. She has no idea that her new boss intends to use her in his revenge scheme. How does revenge turn to love?

Nathan is truly hateful at the beginning of the story. I couldn't figure out how the author would redeem him. By the end he is a "good guy" even though I don't think he has really fully redeemed himself. Isabella is a sweet and trusting young woman that has had a hard life. When she meets Nathan "for the first time" (she actually met him when she was 13 but she doesn't remember him) she is immediately attracted. They begin an adult relationship immediately, but he tells her about his revenger and her role in it. They realize quickly that they care for each other. And then he isn't sure he wants to continue with his revenge, but he's already started it. The end of the story is REALLY sappy.

I struggled to like Nathan given how nasty he was at the beginning. I feel like he needed more time to redeem himself. I guess the author was just too successful setting up the revenge! I also had a problem with how Isabella was so forgiving to everyone. In other words, this was a simple solutions kind of story even though the problems were not that simple.

This is a contemporary romance that takes place in New York and Las Vegas. This is a one-night stand and enemy to lover story. If you are looking for a fast read with a HAPPY ending, this might be the book for you. I will read more from this author in the future.

Part of the Forbidden Confessions series each can be read as a standalone with a sexy boss and the one who captures his undivided attention. Isabelle is a sweetheart who can’t seem to catch a break walks in on her boyfriend cheating deciding to leave moves in with a friend, gets a new job which she enjoys, talked into going to the Christmas party by her friend and ends up with a much older man thinking it is one night which helps her get over her ex in more ways than one. Nathan sexy as all get out boss with revenge on his mind against his business partner who stole from him so when his daughter applied to work for the company of course he hired her with intentions of taking all his revenge out on her and the Christmas party is the perfect time to start the ball rolling but he never expected it to be anything more than revenge. Fate however had other plans the more he is around her, the more he realizes she isn’t her father, she is sweet, caring, kind to others and the magnetic pull between them grows stronger but when she finds out the truth it breaks her, after being cheated on by her ex. now the man she is with is only with her to get back at her father used her, she isn’t sure which way to turn or where she is headed, can he convince her how wrong he was, will she forgive him, will she trust again, did her father steal the money, and can they find something more than lies, revenge?

For some reason my reviews for this series keep disappearing. I listen often because Jason Clarke narrates, so it's no hardship. If you've read Shayla Black before, you know how she writes. These are insta-love fics, so don't complain. This one is hotter than most of the others.

Nathan Price (40, sexy billionaire alpha-hole) only wants one thing - revenge against his ex-business partner (who stole money from him) and his ex-wife (who screwed his ex-business partner). He plans to do that by hiring his ex-bp's daughter and seducing her. Bella (23) is looking for a rebound at the office Christmas party because she just caught her boyfriend cheating on her. Nathan takes her home for sex, decides to force her into marrying him, LOTS of sexy sex happens, Nate decides he wants to breed his new wife, they fall in love, the ex's show back up, break-up, make-up, babies. HEA.

TRIGGER: The reason for Bella's dad's disappearance is medical related and it's a trigger for some folks. (he had brain cancer and had to go to some country for medical treatment.

The sex starts pretty early in this one and there's plenty of it so that's why it's 4 stars for me.

Nathan is a character who evokes both dislike and fascination due to his bossy and domineering nature, as well as his softer side. As the story progresses, his motivations shift from seeking revenge to protecting and ensuring his wife's happiness. Initially, Bella may not be a likable character, but as the story unfolds, her complexities become clearer. Despite their initial mismatch, the explosive chemistry between Nathan and Bella is undeniable, leading to many passionate moments throughout the narrative.

Heartbreak permeates the story from start to finish, creating a sense of impending doom even in moments of apparent happiness. Bella's attention to detail and Nathan's journey from seeking revenge to understanding their evolving relationship add depth to the narrative.

Overall, the story is a gripping read that keeps readers on edge with its steamy moments and complex characters. The evolving romance between the characters and their personal growth make for a compelling and engaging read.

I enjoyed this story. It had some plot twists a surprise confession and lots of spice. I like the pace of the story, and how even though it's a novella, Shayla Black manages to provide great character development. All of the stories in this series are novellas, but this is a bit longer than the rest.

Isabella is so easy to love. She braves through what she believes she needs to after getting cornered. I was mad at Nathan for what he was doing to Isabella. But his actions showed that he truly did care for her, by the end, I was less angry. Isabella made him a better man, a forgiving man.

But be aware that there are some TW that you should contemplate before reading this. I felt that Nathan was a bit obsessed and stalker-ish with Isabella. And I was surprised at how quickly Isabella forgave Nathan for what he did. Although, that said, it is a novella, so things had to happen quickly. And they did get their HEA in the end.

A few characters from previous books have cameos in this one, but you do not have to know their story to follow along in this one.

Oh my... Nathan "Nate" Price is... exactly as you'd expect yet more. I love how his nefarious plans go sideways once he's met Isabella "Izzy" Shay as an adult. He puts forth a good effort to stay on track, I'll give him that. 😏 I may not like him all of the time, heck, sometimes he dislikes himself, but I really do love the path they travel.

Nathan is looking for revenge on his former best-friend and business partner who not only stole his money he stole his wife so of course he hired Isabella he intends to use her to exact his revenge. Nathan plans to start setting his revenge plans in motion at the Christmas party but you know what they say about best laid plans right? I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this steamy age-gap, father's best-friend, enemies to lovers, fake relationship, forbidden, office romance to see what happens. I would recommend reading this book.

Nathan is a 40 year old hunky billionaire and former business partner of her father's. He ended up stealing from Nathan and is now his enemy. Nathan has decided he is going to claim, marry, and breed Bella to get revenge on her father, but he never expects to fall in love. Can Bella forgive him for using her. Can Nathan admit he has real feelings for her? When Bella feels hurt and betrayed, can Nathan prove how much he loves her and that he is all in? I wanted to really hate Nathan as I always hate the premise of using the daughter for revenge... but I just couldn't because he truly did want to take care of Bella and realize his mistakes. This couple was so good together, and their chemistry was pure fire 🔥. After some drama and angst, we get a very happy ending. This was my first Shayla Black novel, but not my last! I loved it!.

How can a novella (175 pages) feel like a 400 page book? So much happened, so much development, so much plot and so much smexy! It's either the author's impeccable writing or magic.

First, like all the books I've read by this author, this one is HOT *fans self* af! The sexual tension here is heavier than a mountain and the smut is 🥵🔥🥵🔥🥵. Nathan is a sex machine and GOALS.

The book is very character focused - including the secondary ones - and their growth was amazing to watch. Both found their footing in life and evolved a lot.

The plot is interesting and I was already laughing seeing Nathan thinking he was a diabolic genius of evil when he reality he was already a golden retriever totally pussy whipped. This is not a spoiler, you can feel it very early.

A super entertaining and smoldering hot book with great character development and an FMC who has more maturity that all the other much older characters.

He's been planning his retribution for a year. Doug's daughter, Isabelle has graduated from college and desperately needs a job to start paying her student loans. Her dad abandoned her and her mother when she was a teenager and her mother died five years ago. She has no one but her high school boyfriend of six years, Eric. The night of the company Christmas party changes everyone's life. Isabelle catches her Eric and their neighbor in the shower together and she ends the relationship. Her best friend convinces her the best way to get over one man is to get under a new one. Isabelle had been interviewed and hired over the phone two weeks ago but hadn't come face-to-face with her boss until the night of the company Christmas party and then it was unknowingly. That was the night that started to change everyone's life. I loved the personal growth these characters made.

Tempted By The Bosshole is another great addition to the Forbidden Confessions series. It ticks all the boxes you want in a quick read; stellar characters, interesting plotline, deep emotions, a bit of angst and lots of spicy sizzle. You'll be happy and thoroughly satisfied when you finish reading. Nathan Price may have plotted revenge and done his homework for a year but the Isabella Shay he got to know was one dimensional. Meeting and seducing this beautiful, thoughtful and caring woman throws a huge monkey wrench in his plans. Boy did the tables get turned. With the exception of her mother and her best friend, Izzy has never come first to any man in her life. Her time is now but learning to trust not only her feelings but the intentions of others is not going to be easy. Actions do speak louder than words and although Nate initially painted her into a corner, his every word and deed since then speaks volumes. Can she trust him or will he let her down as so many have before.

She goes and meets hunky older man Nathan who takes her home and gives her the best sex of her life but what she does not know he is using her to get back to her father who once was his business partner until he stole one million and his wife now Nathan wants revenge through using Isabelle. Nathan gets the shock of his life when he starts to fall for the much younger woman who is sweet and caring but when she finds out what he has done she is broken. Will Isabelle be able to forgive Nathan for using her? Loved this book and the wonderful characters.

This is the eleventh book in the Forbidden Confessions series, and it is a steamy, forbidden age-gap that brings to mind the old adage that revenge is a dish best served cold. Bella is a young woman who winds up broke and homeless due to a cheating boyfriend and goes in search of a job. Nathan is Brook’s father’s best friend and business partner who is looking to get his revenge against his ex-partner. Why you might ask…well, if your best friend stole your wife and your money, you wouldn’t take that lying down. However, sometimes the best laid plans can throw you a curve ball leading to an outcome you never expected that wound up being in your best interest. Once again, Ms. Black has given readers a storyline that grabs one’s attention from the get-go. This is one spicy, quick read (that I wish was a little longer) that will make you do a double take when all is said and done. This is one Forbidden Confession that you want to read!

Nate has been plotting his revenge for a while now. Doug, Isabella’s father disappears, she hasn’t spoken to him in over a year. She finds out her boyfriend is cheating on her. Now she has to move out and where is she going to go?

She gets a job as Nate’s PA and that is just the start of Nate’s planned out revenge. BTW there is a huge twist toward the end of the book that I didn't see coming.

I think Tempted by the Bosshole is my favorite book from the entire series. I know I said that about the last book that I read in this series but, each book just keeps getting better and better.

I've read a lot of Shayla Black's books and these are shorter and quicker to read in one setting. Just because it's shorter doesn't mean you don't get the whole story because you do!! Nathan thinks he's going to get revenge on his ex business partner by marrying the man's daughter but what he finds is someone he wasn't expecting. Bella isn't the spoiled and pampered daughter like he thought but he continues with his revenge plan only to have it sort of blow up on him. He ends up actually falling for her but will Bella ever forgive him when she finds out what he was planning? Even though I hated him for what he started out doing, you can't help but fall for him as you watch him slowly come around to loving her and then having to fight for her to understand. So good for a shorter read and I loved it!

Tempted by the Bosshole is a quick, steamy revenge story with a few surprises that I couldn’t put down! I loved both the characters, Nathan Price and Isabella Shay by the end of the book. I didn’t like Nathan Price at the beginning and it took me a while to warm up to him since he was ruthless, demanding and simply out for revenge at the beginning of their relationship, but he redeemed himself when he showed his caring side and opened his heart up when Isabella surprised him with her kind, giving, open heart. She simply wasn’t was he expected.
Isabella was just an innocent in this revenge story. She was sweet and got caught up in his plot, but she was just herself and Nathan in the end couldn’t resist her and she couldn’t help but fall for the real Nathan Price when he opened himself up to her love.

I really wanted to hate the MMC and I don't know that I ever truly got past his forced marriage crap but in the end it's a big HEA for everyone. MFC gets out of her prior neglectful relationship with her cheating ex and into an original manipulative but s*xualy fulfilling instalove marriage. A lot of this book is WAY far fetched, so not one to dive into of you are looking for "real life" but definitely one to pick up if you want some steam and entertainment with decent plot. I'm not into breeding but I won't yuck anyone's yum, so have at it, this couple sure does. Age gap, father's ex friend, Vegas wedding, forced marriage, and a rich guy.

This is the 11th book in a stand-alone series by Shayla Black called Forbidden Confessions. I read some of these books and I've enjoyed them. Isabelle recently left her cheating ex and is starting over in a new home, with a new job, and is moving on. When Nathan hires his ex-business partner's daughter, Isabelle, he has revenge on his mind. He feels his ex-partner stole from him and will use his daughter. But he soon discovers Isabelle is not her father and when she discovers why she was hired and why he started an affair, she is devastated. The book is a fast-paced, sizzling read with some twists and turns. A solid read.

Between her father’s disappearance and her boyfriend’s deceit Isabella was just looking to forget for a little while. She spends an unforgettable night with a sexy stranger only to find out that he is Nathan, her father’s business partner, and he has an agenda of his own.

The chemistry between them radiates off the pages and even though Isabella was supposed to be a weapon of revenge once he gets to know her he realizes she is his everything.

Certainly not my favorite book by Shayla Black. Nathan is supposedly an incredibly successful mature businessman. Hs devious plan to get back at a former business partner by forcing a relationship on that man's daughter is a plot from crazy town. The idea that this revenge plan includes not just her humiliation but also that he should marry her without a prenup, after having been taken to the cleaners by wife number 1 just does not compute. Also, since he was able to dig up a complete dossier on Isabella, why wasn't this possible for his cheating ex-business partner? He probably would have come across the true reasons for the embezzlement, without too much trouble. Her Reed family series and wicked lovers series, were by far her best work.
