Whew Lawd! My emotions have been drug through a knothole ma’am! 🤯 I know Miss Courtney is going to give us a raw, gritty and heartfelt story; but damn she went for broke on this one! Tarzan and Solana had a love story like no other! Both having mirroring stories, being raised by grandparents, strained relationships with their parents and lots of childhood trauma! No matter what life threw at either of them, their love stood strong! I was constantly shaking my head at Tarzan, for leading this woman on, as she was giving off shady vibes! Wanting something to take his mind of Solana I get, but this with her was a no-go sir! I knew something was up with that damn Zari! But who knew it would be THAT big!
Solana getting with Garvin (Bullet) was just a trainwreck waiting to happen! Him trying to be something that he was not, the jealousy and possessiveness of her were all big red flags! When Tarzan and Solana, finally got out of their own way, and began to start anew; all hell broke loose! Why can’t people just take that L, and keep it moving? Ughhhh... 🤬 My heart broke for Solana when those monsters had to “teach” her a lesson! 💔 All of the work she had done to heal, was shot to hell now! I knew the reaper would return to take care of it all! Tarzan did not play about Solana and was ready to lay it all on the line for her at any moment! These two had gone through so much and continued to do so. I wondered how they would make it through! But God! A love like this could not be denied and deserved to be explored! This read will have you feeling some kinda way, but also deep thinking and receiving the dropped gems along the way! Great read! 👍👍👍

quite the journey to a HEA

Forever My Savage is a complete story with two characters that are soulmates in every aspect of the word. Tarzan and Solana have history, chemistry, and a bond that can’t be ignored. I loved this story! I think the storytelling, plot twists, and characters were well planned and displayed on page. The flow of the story goes well; it truly felt like watching a movie being played out on page. The flashback scenes added an additional layer to the complex dynamic duo. I didn’t have to wonder why things were happening because it was explained well. I loved how dominant and protective Tarzan was; he would lay his life down to save Solana - no questions asked. We Stan! I felt like both characters had a strong tribe around them that genuinely wanted to see them progress as a couple. And Solana and Tarzan had very similar backgrounds and I do think their bond formed because of their traumas. However, it was very clear that the love was still there, regardless of any time spent apart. It wasn’t forced, if anything, it was intense and very raw. The story is kind of a slow burn with a lot of build up. I was chomping at the bit waiting for these two to tie up those loose ends and be together. At times the story was heavy and could easily trigger the reader so be mindful of the content warning. One thing Courtney is going to do is give readers a message that hits so close to home. I was highlighting so many thought provoking points and I received those gems. Overall, this book was well worth reading. There were some plot twists that I didn't see coming. I was waiting for the downfall of Gavin and Zari to happen because they were the worst and couldn’t buy a clue if it were in front of them. Whew! It was also nice to see older characters mentioned in this story, as well. I love strong friendships & families and it was displayed throughout the story. This book was a reminder that true love exists and when you’re connected to your person, you can withstand the hardest challenges. I would recommend this book.

Tarzan and Solana 🥰🥰. Tarzan is all BDE and don’t play with his wife. Solana is drugged by someone she thought she could trust but he laced her weed with a bunch of drugs that almost killed. Tarzan finds his way back to Solana after her tragic event. Here comes his trifling ass fiancée Zuri who just couldn’t take a hit. Zuri plot twist was crazy but glad she got hers. Bullet deserved everything that happened especially for not hurting Solana once but twice. Despite the trauma in Solana life she rose above it all. Tarzan and Solana finally get there HEA is beautiful.

Also idk whose worse Tarzan mother or Solana father.. just straight trash

Tarzan 😍

This book was everything! The buildup, the drama, the chemistry, the plot twists and the characters will keep you flipping page after page wondering what’s going to happen next. Courtney has the old school, urban romance vibe that gives me nostalgia every time I read. I’m so happy Solana and Tarzan got their happy ending, but they went through hell to get it! Make this your next read ASAP!

Amazing story.

This was such an excellent well written story. The author definitely took us through all the highs and lows with Tarzan and Solana. They went through a bunch and truly deserved their HEA. They definitely has each others back and front.

A long story

I like a good long story if it holds my interest. This one kept me engaged most of the story with short lulls. A few plots were lofty, but its possible the events could happen that way. Shrugs. Overall, the story was very long with some gruesome acts and lots of chatter. Character development was good, relationship and chemistry were evident between the main characters. Although the story was detailed, some parts of the storyline were draining. See what you think...

Good read

This author is new to me, I enjoyed this book a lot. Although, i did feel like you might want to read her previous work for character development and more of the characters back story, imo. As a LA native, this was really like hearing your HG giving you all the neighborhood tea lol. I thought Solana was cool, but I feel like she never learned her lesson. You almost lose your life and literally go right back to smoking??? Yes, it was not her fault, but she even said herself she wasn't even on that before Bullet came with his peace offering. She made a lot of unwise decisions under the influence and never once thought to try life without the aid of weed and alcohol.
I'm glad that she had someone like Tarzan looking out for her. I admired their love story, but at times, their family and friends constantly pressuring them back together became redundant especially since Tarzan was in a relationship. Zari was a plot twist I really wasn't expecting. You'll want to roll your eyes at her and really want to tell her girl, move tf on lol, but I guess she called herself getting her little lick back, chile lol. I feel like I needed Bullet to have been removed way more differently, what he did to Solana was low & disgusting, but I'm glad Tarzan got justice for her. I loved the close knit family vibes and it's evident their small circle rides for each other. I got the intention with Norio, but i felt like addition of Baasima, Nayati and Sakira really served no purpose especially being introduced so late in the book. Overall, Solana receives a lot of unfair plays her way & your heart will cry for her and Tarzan too, but thankfully their love perseveres and they get their own happy ending. Also, the Jew & Sage situation was crazy. Solana asking Jew was she really letting Sage walk away after his secret was even crazier, like girl please be so fcking fr, lmao. I liked that Jew did walk away, even though, the majority clearly think love could withstand ANYTHING to include the highest form of disrespect, cause Sage was dead wrong & should have never allowed his transgressions to go that far. I love a good long book and this page is definitely a page turner with a little bit of everything. I will be reading the rest of the authors catalog forsure.

SoulMates 4.0

Ms. Courtney, first I want to say take a bow. You put your blood, sweat, and tears into this novel. And thank you for inviting us into this family. I know it may have taken you a while to get it done but it was well worth every word written. The plot was superb and just when I thought I had it all figured out you tossed another plot twist in there. It was engaging and kept my attention from beginning to end. It was so engaging that the pages turned themselves.

There is absolutely no doubt that Tarzan and Solana are soul mates. Tarzan and Solana defined the word soulmate. During the decade they were in each other lives they have experienced more than a couple that has been married for forty years. They have quite a few speed bumps two of which were potholes along the way. However, they managed to cross each one. It took quite a few heartaches and heartbreaks but they only solidified the love they had for each other.

This novel is about love, healing, and a smack of reality. Tarzan and Solana went through their healing after a plethora of losses and scandals. However, I am hoping that this is not the last of this dynamic family. I would love to know if Sage and Jewel have a new story to tell. It also would be great to get to know Sakari more. And of course updates on all the new families to see if they have expanded more. If by any chance you haven't experienced one of Ms. Irving's masterpieces here is your chance. You need to start with Write Your Name to get the proper introduction to this family. And just go from there to the next brother.

Somebody check on me; I’m not okay!! Whewww this book took me through it!

Tarzan and Solana had mirroring childhoods, being raised by their grandparents, strained relationships with their parents, and tons of childhood trauma. And their love ran so deep!

Solana Gage is an L.A. native with a complicated past, now a viral Neo-Soul singer, love has never been kind to her, but that doesn’t stop her from falling for street legend Trazan Begay. After she receives some heartbreaking news, she decides to end their relationship. Walking away from him was the hardest thing she ever had to face, or so she thought; however, her rebound pushed her to the brink of death.

Tarzan Begay is a reformed Street legend, now the proud owner of a hookah and cigar lounge. He has come a long way from his days of hustling in the streets, but he hasn’t lost his consciousness are strategic ways, especially when it comes to his affairs with women. He’s only ever loved one woman, and she walked out on him two years ago,

This is not your typical love story; this is a complicated story about soulmates. Tarzan and Solana were meant to be. But boyyyy, this was a journey getting them to their HEA. The twist was so unexpected. Like, WTF 😳 🤯 There were so many OMG moments in this story!

Solana was put through it, and I felt for her. She was finally healing and getting out of her way when all hell broke loose.

Tarzan is the definition of a protector. He would seriously lay his life down for Solana. I wish he would have stopped playing with Zari sooner, putting the girl out of her misery already.

I knew Zari couldn’t be trusted, but I didn’t see THAT coming!! I saw that particular storyline playing out in so many scenarios, but the one Courtney took us on was not one of them.

Side note: I’m so disappointed with Sage's ass! How dare he! My girl Jewel made him feel that shit! My girl was like you gone stand on your decisions 👏🏾👏🏾

Courtney knows how to give us a raw, authentic, heartfelt story. My girl is going to provide you with a complete story that is filled with drama, but she wraps it up in such a beautiful way I felt like I was watching a movie while reading the story.

Solana went through a lot in this book. She struggled with depression and previously attempted to commit suicide due to her depression. It was thought that she attempted suicide again after overdosing while at a concert when in fact her drugs were laced by her previous lover. To help her cope she started seeing a therapist to help her cope and better deal with her depression/trauma. She had to learn to love and be happy with herself. She had to learn to stop running and take off the mask that so many of us black women wear on a daily. She wanted the love that she lacked to receive from her parents and she found that in Tarzan. She loved Tarzan hard it ran when the most important thing to Tarzan came up and she couldn’t deliver and that was due to having a miscarriage. Tarzan never knew why she ran he just felt like she was always running and just caused a storm in his live whereas Zari was peaceful and went with the flow and everything he did. However, like Wisdon stated Solana was the woman to have on his side, she would endure the storms with him and would never fold. He was never in love with Zari she was easy. He could buy her all the fancy gifts and she was fine. He didn’t have to give time and attention as she didn’t demand it. Solana and Tarzan were truly meant for one another the trip to the Bahamas solidified that she encouraged him to experience new things. They truly bonded and began to talk over the issues they had with one another. Tarzan taught her that a real man will do whatever it takes to meet your expectations and boundaries and not put you in uncomfortable situations and he also explained this to his sister Sakari.

Phew 😮‍💨!!! OMG… This was WOW 🤩 even a little bit speechless.

So I have read some of MS. Irving’s books (Wisdom and Truth to be exact), and when this came out, I got it but put it on my TBR list and kept on moving, WHAT a MISTAKE!!!! I should have read it on the spot instead.
This was WOW…. Speechless 😶 is how I felt. Yes Solana got on my nerves with her communication but my goodness, Tarzan is definitely the MAN and bae, just like Wisdom and even Truth. But Wisdom and Begay, this is it: that BDE was on point and so high on the totem pole.
I won’t go too much into the details because this is something that needed to be experienced and savor individually because TRAUMA is the second title to this book and MS. Irving weaved it so well and crafted it so beautifully that even the drama was beautiful. There is something so perfect when you have the undying support of friends and family no questions ask.
Grab it, DO NOT put it on a TBR list, but read it as soon as you get it!!!
So glad that Zari was dealt with, while Sakari was put into the fold. Now we need Jewels story, as well as Sakari, and who knows, what if Sakari and Sage were put together 🫣😏…
MS. Irving, I am counting on you to bring something soon as we do not want to get into withdrawals, you hear? Thank you 🙏

Whew chile this book took me through it!! Solana and Tarzan just could not catch a break. It seems like they both left the womb experiencing trauma and it was just never ending. They both went through hell and back in their lives, stuff that would break anybody down beyond repair. Still they not only found themselves but they found each other, separated and found their way back. Their love story was definitely ride or die, I’ll kill for you die for you, it’ll always be you.

I loved every minute of this book. The relationship was a complete emotional roller coaster. Add in the foolishness with Gavin, that plot twist with Zari, the shocker of Marley in Spain. I definitely stayed on the edge of my seat. This is absolutely a book where should 1000% heed to the TWs. There is A LOT of trauma and violence that takes place on page. This one is not for the faint of heart but absolutely worth the read!

Love stands the test of time

Soulmates. That’s the only way to describe Solana and Tarzan. There was no denying how they felt for one another no matter what obstacles fell in their way. I’m so happy it worked out for them because the unadulterated love displayed was everything!

Now there were some moments that had me clutching my pearls (and not in a good way), but I’m happy that even in those intense moments all I could think of was Solana and Tarzan being prepared for something greater. As for the others in this novel, they all got what they deserved including this one sentence of relevance from me.

It was great seeing Wisdom and Sunny again! True and Temptess still cracking me up. Now Sage…whew. He got his karma and quick! I wish him the best, but I don’t blame Jew at all. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Whew!! Ms. Courtney didn’t come to play!! With each book from this interconnected series, she captured my attention with the first few sentences. That didn’t change here, what did- this story flowed much better than the previous ones. It was less redundant and each character was more developed. They each felt real, even crazy ass Zari.

I could feel their anxiety and pain. This was such a colorful, drama filled story and I LIVED!!

I’m telling you, out of the entire series, this is my fav. I loved each story and am a fan of the authors writing. But this one was it. Having said that- I did find their tit for tat and poor communication af.

Now I hope we will have more, especially focused on Jewel and Sage. Please don’t leave us here… introducing Sakari, has me hoping we will still be hanging what Prices and Begays longer.

SOLANA & TARZAN ❤️

I really enjoyed this story. Very well written great storyline and character development. Solana and Tarzan were definitely soulmates. These two have been through a lot as kids and forged an unbreakable bond as friends and later on as lovers. Their time apart was just a test to see if the love they had was still there. There were moments that had me questioning if they could really let the past go and move forward. But when it comes to true love, nothing and no one can stop what they had.
It was great having the crew come together again. I love how connected and supportive everyone is with each other. I was so glad Solana and Tarzan finally got their happy ending.

What a journey!!

I enjoyed reading about Solana and Tarzan! This book was so good, it was hard to put down. I always love "seeing" past characters in new books and author Courtney Irving does an amazing job at giving updates on past favs. Solana and Tarzan's journey back to each was LOT but every hurdle was worth it. I recommend reading to see what and WHO some of those hurdles were cuz that Zari?!? She was one of those "let me jump in this book and slap her real quick" kind of characters! This 5 star read had the perfect amount of everything I love in a novel. Can't wait to read more!

A Jane, in need of a Tarzan, lol.

First of all ,... a fine ass hood ninja named Tarzan immediately had me intrigued. Forever My Savage was a page turner & I couldn't help but get to the end because I needed Solana & Tarzan to get their HEA! This book had a few plot twists that I was not expecting & had me stressed, but they were executed perfectly within the story line. I loved most of the characters & the ones I didn't definitely had it coming. I'll definitely be reading the rest of the Savage Families stories because Courtney did her thing when she penned this one!

Happy Reading!!

I really liked this, but I think this is my problem in a few of the urban romances I’ve read. Why does everyone and there mother have a pov in this book like idrc how they think and I think it does better when you don’t know how the random side character felt. Also I don’t like when there’s these weird elements of cheating or other woman like wdym you’ve loved me forever but you’re engaged to another woman. I think though like I loved the growth that they both did and the emphasis on therapy and although I didn’t really like the end it was ok.

…..She’s done it again ‼️Top Tier 🏆

I tried to read as slow as possible. Even that wasn’t enough lol 😆 I will not give any spoiler alerts at all. You will have to trust when I say, it’s a BANGER. Simply put, I want to read it again just to see if I missed anything. Ms. Irving has that spectacular pen to paper gang on point. She’s mastered all the specific techniques and intricacies of making a novel screen worthy!! Blessings Queen blessings!! May you continue to show up and out in this literacy world, like God has planned for you!! ✌🏾

I definitely enjoyed this book! Tarzan was a whole man outchea! The book got very heavy and heartbreaking at times so I would be aware of that before picking it up. Some content warnings: sexual assault, miscarriage, substance abuse, mentions of attempted suicide. I’m so happy that through everything Soul and Tarzan went through they were able to get their happily ever after. I love a well written standalone that keeps you engaged throughout the entire book!

FOREVER My Savage💜

This book was definitely worth the wait. The update on the Price brothers was the icing on the cake. At times my heart was aching for Solana and other times for Tarzan. The push and pull from them when it was obvious they needed to be together was deeply felt. I love that their family wouldn’t let either one of them forget how they really felt about the other. There were so many wrenches thrown their way but like the message from Kasi God was with them💜

🔥 🔥

This author brought out all the feels in Lo's & Tarzan's roller coaster ride of a story!! I was shedding a few tears before I knew it at their deliverance in the church scene! I was a little sad when it ended. I feel like I can read about them 4eva! 🤣🤣🤣 I would love to read about his sister and their developing relationship because her family seems like they're full of 💩 and she will need that protection! This is a 5 ⭐ read and can't wait to see what's next from Courtney!

Tarzan was the man!

Forever My Savage was a good read, just a bit tough on my heart. Poor Solana went through too much, like too much. I was heartbroken for her and Tarzan. This one was heavy but still a good read overall. Hate that Tarzan got caught slipping, but he should have known better 🤦🏽‍♀️. In my opinion Zari, Bullet, and the rest of those snakes got off too easy! They should have had to suffer long and hard for their BS!

The “T” in Tarzan must stand for toxic !!!

Tarzan was so toxic to home girl, even though of course I’m rooting for Solana. But it’s so clear what Zari is wanting him to simply say it clearly. He’s being ambiguous and not giving her what she desperately needs to hear. As a woman I felt her pain and found myself tearing up, that’s the only reason it has to get 4 stars instead of 5.

FYI: I’m not even done with the book while writing this but I’m loving the story so much.

Wow

I absolutely loved this story. While Solana and Tarzan had a lot of trials and tribulations they came through it all with love and loyalty. This whole family that they made some blood and some not were there for each other through and through. I absolutely loved how Tarzan came about Solana. He wasn’t about to let any disrespect fly when it came to her. Definite must read

Great read

Courtney Irving did it again! It's always good seeing characters from previous books. The connection between Tarzan and Solana was unparalleled. Solana went through so much, she struggled but she didn't let things crush her. Tarzan was her everything even when settling. This story moved at a great pace and kept me interested with every turn of the page.

It answered ever question I had and didn’t leave me wanting move but at the same time I really didn’t want the book to end. I wanted more about them snd their story.
