This is the third book in the series, and at this point, I’m only still in it because I’ve paid for four of them. The consistent lack of research into proper police procedures, and the overuse of cliche phrases is making my eye twitch. It doesn’t help that I’ve listened to the audiobooks, and while I enjoy the narrators voice, the audio company clearly did zero editing. Repeated lines, incorrect names, and sounds of swallowing and deep breaths distract from the story. I honestly feel bad leaving a negative review. I’ve not written a book so who am I to judge, but I just feel like an editor for both the book and the narration would have went a long way to help the author out.
Victims are being tied to offshore wind turbines and Reese together with Clay are searching for the culprit in the midst of heavy storms. The weather does not help them as it does not help with finding clues and the corpses keep on piling up. They search for everyone who might be related to the crimes and go everywhere until they find the reason that ties the killings. Their lives are again on the line and it'll not be easy to apprehend the killer. Good story, terrifying descriptions of storms!!! I thank the author for the ARC.
Police officer Reese Link teams up with State Trooper Clay to solve series of mysterious murders. The killer leaves bodies suspended from wind turbines. They race across the waters around Maine in an attempt to thwart the death of a local newscaster. Lots of action and red herring in this compelling story. Reese has been living in the shadow of an older brother who was murdered. She is a bit reckless but very driven!
I really enjoy Molly Black’s books but this series is not very well narrated for the audiobooks. Several times lines are repeated more than once and the narrator huffs after making a mistake and repeats the line. None of the other series I’ve read have been this poorly narrated.
I really enjoyed this book as you can see from the amount of time taken to read. done in 2 days. for me thats a record. had me interested from page 1. highly recommend
