There are five guys on the Wildcats who always start, and forward Daniel Friedland isn't one of them. But when the star forward goes on vacation, Daniel gets his chance at the spotlight. It's his turn to shine. Daniel has worked hard at improving his free throws, but he's terrible at layups, and everybody knows it. He'll need to work hard if he wants to be a starting Wildcat.
Jake Maddox always does a god job writing and publishing a book. I trust his book writing because he goes around the world and plays sports and does different activities that he writes in his book. I like his books because he does the sports that I like. The book Off the Bench is a good book to read because it tells you about the sport basketball. It inspires me because in the book he becomes the starting Small Forward in the game against Killcreek. I like this book because basketball is one of my favorite sports out of all my favorite sports. All my positives about this book is that I like how he describes the book, I like how he makes the book with cliff hangers, and that stuff. He really inspires me because he makes the book sound like it can make it feel like it is in real life. My positives are I don't like how he doesn't use real basketball stars names in the book instead of using unpopular names that probably not even used in America. I think anyone should read this book because I think and you might think that it is a good book to read and I think Jake Maddox will inspire you too. I also think that everyone that likes the sport basketball should read this book so they can learn what to do to get better.
I think Jake Maddox makes good books about sports even most of the stories he writes are the sports I like. Especially this book because I like basketball. This book "Off the Bench" is a good book it inspires me to try harder in basketball and ask some of my teammates if they wanna practice together. I like the part where he goes to the locker room and hears his friend the star Small Forward Dwayne Illy say that he won't be at the game against Killcreek. That makes me feel like he is excited because he gets to play starting Small Forward against Killcreek. I trust Jake Maddox books because they inspire me because he travels around the world playing different sports and does different activities so I would trust it because he does sports so he knows what he is saying about the sports in the book.
If you have students that are into sports but struggle reading, the Jake Maddox series, might be the way to go. Off the Bench focuses on a growth mindset. Daniel wants to become a starter instead of second string. He's given the opportunity to prove himself and does what he can. Not bad lessons to learn, although quite simplistic. The large font, ample white space and cartoon drawings could be appealing too. Book talk:13-16
