When this hot, hard-bodied Navy SEAL plays around, he means business…

It’s not whether you win or lose.

Navy SEAL Clint “Iceman” McIntyre didn’t earn his name by being a coward. Or a quitter. Having crushed an infamous drug cartel in Columbia, Clint was nothing short of an American hero. Now he’s home, on a much-needed leave, but instead of some R&R, he finds himself neck-deep in the hottest kind of trouble with his best friend’s little sister, Morganna Chavez—the only woman who has the power to bring him to his knees…

It’s how you play…

Morganna has been secretly working with the DEA to uncover a thriving date-rape drug, which leads her to a shadowy faction that is more deadly than anything her team has ever encountered. Now, it’s up to Clint to keep this beautiful, determined agent out of harm’s way, even while the explosive passion between them threatens to consume them. Soon Clint’s greatest mission will be not just keeping Morganna alive, but getting her into his arms and never letting go.

Let me start by saying that I had been "warned" about Clint, the hero in this book, beforehand. Nevertheless, I decided to give him a chance since some readers really liked his "extreme alphaness". I could go for it, if he convinced me he truly loved Morganna, the heroine. Oh boy, what can I say now?...

Clint was a major jerk and I failed to see any redeeming qualities in him. There wasn't even a hint of groveling in the end to make him less undesirable. He just liked telling Morganna what to do, even forbidding her to keep visiting the BDSM clubs he himself had no problems enjoying. Double standards didn't begin to describe it! WTH, shouldn't he be happy to find out that the woman he "loved" was, or seemed to be, into the same kinky sex stuff he was? Hmm, "love"... I didn't buy his alleged "love" for Morganna for one moment, but that was understandable considering she was less than lovely too. One of Clint's buddies - I don't remember which one and I don't really care! - told him he was nuts for falling for her, and that was a true statement if I ever heard one. But I'm getting sidetracked here... I'll get back to Morganna later; let me go back to ranting about Clint... I'm not into BDSM, so I was kind of glad to see that Clint and Morganna didn't engage heavily into that. That said, I have to remark that his behavior was completely out of character. Wasn't he supposed to be this uber Dom that was famous for his extreme sexual needs? If so, how come he ended up led by the balls (no pun intended) by Morganna? Sure, the "butt plug action" on their 1st encounter was in character - oh, and I would have decked any guy on the spot if he pulled a stunt like that on me! - but Clint didn't live up to all his "Dom celebrity" later. If that was all an act to get him inside the BDSM world in order to catch the bad guys, it was never clear.

Morganna wasn't much better than Clint, IMHO. Was she supposed to be feisty? Well, it didn't work for me. Her outbursts and comebacks to Clint only made me see her as a whiny brat. I know she was only playing a part in those BDSM clubs but, seriously, I got this picture of a brainless bimbo in my mind and nothing could shake it. Her only saving grace was the fact that she didn't have any TSTL moment - besides the fact that she'd pined for less-than-worthy Clint for 10 years! - and didn't put herself in danger voluntarily. Quite frankly, I kind of expected her to disobey Clint's orders and rush into the arms of the nearest bad guy. She didn't, so she wasn't completely lost to me.

As for the plot and the storyline, it was just a mess. Secondary characters appeared out of nowhere and past events where mentioned without enough background to help me better understand what was going on. I've read some reviews where readers complained about being lost in the story, wondering if they should have previously read the novella Reno's Chance that started the series. Well, I've read that short story and I can safely say that it didn't help me one bit. I was as lost as anyone else who hasn't. At first, I tried rereading the scenes to get some sense on who was who and what was happening, but it was not worthy and I gave up on that pretty soon. No wonder I was scratching my head in puzzlement when the mole in the DEA team was revealed near the end of the story: by then, I had completely forgotten who that guy was!

I've read Wild Card and really liked it, which made me backtrack and start reading the Tempting SEALs series. I've read Reno's Chance and Dangerous Games now, and disliked both. Should I give up on this series?

I'm really struggling with this series (I also read the first book in the Elite Ops series and was somewhat ambivalent about it as well). I know many love Lora Leigh but I'm not sure she works for me. Perhaps I should give one of her other series a try before I close the book on this author for good.

I really really liked this book! 4.5 stars... The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, was that I thought it was about 30- 40 pages too long, and the story could have been wrapped up earlier. With that being said, I still really enjoyed it!

Morganna is a girly girl who likes to dance, party and have a good time! She's also very smart and serious about her career in the DEA. No one knows she's in the DEA however, because she knew that Clint- the man she's been pining away for since she was a kid- would barge in and try to protect her.

Clint is a Navy SEAL just like his best friend Reno, and he has always been able to handle anything thrown his way... except Morganna. She has been tempting him for 10 years, and Clint knows he's got to stay away from her for her own good.

When Clint runs into Morganna at a BDSM club, he thinks that he can finally give in to his urges with her... now that she understands the Dom/sub relationship and will have no expectations... well he couldnt be more wrong! Morganna is undercover on a job, and when Clint shows up, thinking to only have her for one night, she's determined to show him that its forever... or never!

This book was sexy and intriguing. It had a large plot other than just Morganna and Clint's romance, however the steaminess between the two of them is off the charts! If you love the military man story line and enjoy a bit of drama and angst in your romance... this ones for you!

DANGEROUS GAMES is the first in the TEMPTING SEALS series (after the novella in Honk If You Love Real Men: Four Tales of Erotic RomanceSteamy, passionate and action packed this is great romantic suspense. With a sexy yet tortured alpha-male hero, a spunky, stubborn female lead and a reunited lovers theme. Plus Ms Leigh can write a love scene like no other so if you want hot and steamy then this is your book. Although there were parts of this that I loved it was definitely not my favourite Lora Leigh.

Clint McIntyre is a hard man who's seen it all during his time as a Navy Seal. Managing to collect a lot of baggage over the years he's also closed off his heart, except when it comes to Morganna Chavez. Clint's always had a soft spot for his best friends little sister and despite his growing affection has done everything to protect the trouble maker. Morganna in turn has been in love with Clint since she was sixteen years old, tempting him with her young body whenever she had the chance, always hoping that somehow they might have a future together. As she grows into a beautiful woman Clint begins to distance himself, not wanting to expose her to his darker tendencies and afraid of her power over him. And as our story truly begins to unfold, he's been running away from Morganna for years. Terrified by what she makes him feel and tempted by her blossoming sexuality. The beginning of this book grabbed my attention right away. The sexual tension, lust and want is intense and well written.

Eventually Morganna resigns herself to the fact that Clint will never be a part of her life and takes a position in Law enforcement, concealing her job from both her brother and Clint. When Clint returns to town for some much needed R&R he is horrified and pretty turned on to see Morganna in his favourite underground BDSM club. She's now all grown up and Clint can't keep away from her any longer, becoming frantic with his blinding possessiveness. He soon discovers that Morganna is in fact working undercover and is the intended bait in an operation to uncover the dealers in a date rape drug ring. The pair butt heads as Clint tries to get her off the case and out of the clubs and the chemistry here is great. Clint is all alpha male and dominant while Morganna holds her own. Of course the two wind up working undercover together; Clint as the leather pants wearing dominant and Morganna as his not quite behaving submissive. I wasn't really into the whole Dom/Sub, BDSM angle but it was different and made for an interesting story line. However it never really takes off so if you're looking for whips, ball gags and bondage you'll be disappointed, as it's just a setting and not really an explored lifestyle.

The climax of this book is exciting and suspenseful; with a great hand to hand fight scene complete with knifes, guns and swinging vases. I did however have trouble with the overabundance of secondary characters that kept popping in and out and couldn't keep any of their names straight. There is some reference here to the previous novella but no back story is really given which was unfortunate. I also felt bogged down by the over the top plotline involving Columbian drug cartels and double crossing agents. It was just too much.

Lore Leigh writes the tortured hero like no other and there were several very touching scenes as Morganna tries to thaw Clint's frozen heart and he struggles to come to terms with his true feelings for Morganna. When Clint finally let's go and surrenders his heart ...Sigh. "Hold me," he growled against her neck. But she was holding him, her arms tight around his shoulders. And it wasn't enough. He needed more. Needed more of her to still the pain building in his soul.

I recommend this book even though it isn't the best in the series. Wild Card(book 4) would have to be my favourite but this is still entertaining and sexy as hell.

First off, Auntee, thanks so much for letting me borrow these SEAL books of Leigh's. I'm enjoying them a bunch!

Before I started this book, Auntee gave me a little forewarning that if I didn't like this one, to keep going with the series because it got better. So I wasn't really sure whether I'd like this book or not.

Turned out I loved it. A lot. Not quite 5-star LOVED, but close. I know some didn't quite like this book for a couple of reasons: it was tamer than Leigh's erotic-romance book, there was a somewhat heavy focus on D/S, it wasn't quite erotic romance, and not quite romantic suspense, etc.

But none of those things really bothered me. I was a smidge disappointed that Leigh turned down the sex as much as she did. I mean, the book was still much hotter than your average romance, but it was still tamer than her other books. And not just in obvious ways. There were some subtler changes I noticed that I didn't think were necessary. But the book was still H.O.T. Just be warned that if you're thinking of reading this book because you've read Leigh's straight-up erotic-romances, it's not like those.

I know some didn't like Morganna and Clint...I liked them a lot. They were fun to read about, and I enjoyed their sparring and the little power struggles between them.

As for the storyline...it's romantic suspense, yet...not. There's a suspense aspect but the book is more about the characters, the relationship between Morganna and Clint, and the sex. There's lots of sex. But I thought the suspense aspect was interesting enough. It kept the book from getting a little repetitive with all the sex. I do with I had been able to read Reno's story beforehand, but I don't have that book, so I had to make do.

All-in-all, good stuff. I'm glad I got the chance to read it.

Well, this is definitely a sizzler, let me tell you! I’ve now joined the Leigh club and got a taste of her writing.:)

Clint is strongest Uber Alpha I’ve ever read about. It took me a while to like him, because at first I wanted to tell him back off and shove it. As a child he had an abusive father, who took out his rage over his wife’s cheating on his son. Clint hid this from everyone, even his best friend, Reno. He spent most of his childhood at Reno’s house, and grew to like his younger sister, Morganna. She was ten years younger then him—therefore off limits.

Morganna has always been treated like a child by her older brother, Reno, and Clint. Morganna has been in love with Clint since she was a young girl. They might as well have locked her in the top of the castle with Rapunzel and thrown away the key. Now Reno and Clint are both SEALS. They are often gone on long missions and she is left alone.

One night Clint spots her at a BDSM Club. He is thrilled that he can now have her with no strings attached. Wrong. Morganna is an undercover DEA agent working in the club trying to get info on a drug that is killing women.

Morganna is just a strong as Clint in many ways, and reading how their relationship develops is really good. Oh, did I mention how HOT this book is? STEAMY!

Just a warning, this book has explicit sex scenes with a little D/S. If you’re not into that, this one isn’t for you.

#2 Tempting SEALS - Romantic Suspense - 4.5 stars

Ultra-uber Alpha Clint McIntyre, on leave from his military SEALS duties, discovers his best friend's sister Morganna in a sex club, working undercover as a DEA agent.

Tough-as-nails Clint is thrown into the emotional stratosphere. He and Morganna have been flirting and dancing around each other for years, and he's determined as hell to watch her back (read: stalk her) until he can convince her to abandon her assignment "for her own safety."

Morganna is 26 y/o, a trained DEA agent, smart and capable ... Clint just about destroys the town & surrounding countryside trying to get this sassy woman to do everything his way *L*.

Loved the well thought out and complex plot involving the cartel and drug investiation.

Clint's definitely over the edge in MANY ways, especially his obsession with Morganna. I LOVE Lora Leigh, LOL.

As in several other LL books, I was laughing and shaking my head over how the Alpha hero TOTALLY moves in on another law enforcement's ongoing investigation or operation. Before you know it, he's minimized the op's commanding officer and the local cops, threatened, bullied or shoved around other cops, and HE is the ONLY ONE who can save the op from dissolving into mayhem and chaos, LOL.

Watching my share of crime dramas on TV over the years, I kept thinking as Clint muscled his way into the DEA operation, "Jurisdiction? I don't need no STINKIN' Jurisdiction!!!"

This book was so bad that I would probably never read another Lora Leigh book again except I have read other books by her that were very enjoyable. The plot in Dangerous Games was not only weak but oh so boring. Lora did not take any time to investigate Navy Seals because she started the book out stating that Clint had joined the Army when he was in the Navy. Let's see, she also had Navy Seals based in Atlanta and killing people with total disregard for the law. Navy Seals are not spies/spooks with a license to kill their enemies while on American soil when they are not even on a mission with no questions asked. She often referred to the Admiral as a General and that was annoying.

The book was supposed to be based in Atlanta but she often referred to the "sultry SC heat" while they were in Atlanta...umm that's a few hours drive from one to the other. They also frequented a club in South Carolina..thats a long way to go to get to a club.

There were so many typing errors, missing words, and missing letters but those errors were nothing compared to her final fight scene. In the final battle scene she starts calling the bad guy by the wrong name. It was so confusing and I had to read it a few times to realize that in the middle of a fight scene she changed the name of the bad guy. WTH? That's unacceptable. How did any editor miss that? I have so many more complaints. There was a mole in the story that wasn't revealed until later. When you find out who the mole is, the character was so insignificant I barely recognized the name..definently not worth the build up.

Lora's Breed series so far are much better put together without all the problems this book had. Though the love scenes were meant to be hot, they were a let down too. There was all this talk of our Navy Seal being a member of the BDSM club where the membership is 40K a year and he has a private sex room that costs even more. How can he afford that on government pay. He has all this inner dialog of all the bad things he's gonna do to Morganna, but guess what? Boring! Cause it never happens. And who the hell has a butt plug packed in their emergency night bag? Really? Unbelievable.

5 stars - Romantic Suspense

The Tempting SEALS romance/action/suspense series by Lora Leigh is scalding HOT, and Dangerous Games featuring uber alpha male Navy SEAL Clint "Iceman" McIntyre and DEA undercover agent Morganna Chavez is a serious scorcher. Even though the plot is a tad unbelievable and convoluted, Lora Leigh still delivers sizzling hot action and romance and creates enough drama, angst, and intrigue to keep interest for future books in the series. Be warned that this book is explicit, has references to BDSM, and is steamy hot.

When I started this book, I approached it with a bit of trepidation. I'd read some reviews of it where people were turned off by the fact Clint, the hero, was lusting after Morganna, his best friend's sister, from the time she was jailbait. Thankfully, LL skimmed rapidly thru that and by the time they did eventually give into their heated feelings for each other she was in her mid twenties.

This all became a quick twinge of annoyance for me, because the thriller aspect of the tale engaged me from then on. The plotting in DG far outpaces most of Leigh's e-book years. Yes, part of the conflict is once again "I want her/him but I won't let myself have her/him", however, the external conflict worked so well I didn't find it as irritating.

Morganna has known Clint all her life and has loved him for most of that time. He has been helplessly drawn to her as well, but has run from it for many years. (Being a SEAL he has a good excuse to do so!) Tired of waiting for him to get his act together, and bored with her secretary job, she joins the police academy. When we next meet up with her she has moved up to newbie DEA agent and is on a team investigating the BDSM clubs in Atlanta to ferret out the source of the new date rape drug hitting the scene.

Clint, a DOM/sub connoisseur is in for a shock when he discovers Morganna hanging out at his haunts and making quite the scene. When he finds out that she is in fact undercover, and, in addition, the subject of what appears to be a drug trafficking payback vendetta, he hits the roof and works it so she's pulled off the case. No worries- she's strong enough to maneuver him and all the other overbearing men involved, and ends up working with Clint to catch the baddies.

Their story is fast paced, heart breaking at times, and their chemistry sizzles!

I haven't read the first story in this series, the short story Reno's Chance in the anthology, Honk If You Love Real Men so I felt a little lost when guys started popping up left and right. I just felt like I was inundated with too much information too fast. The plot also looked more intricate than it really was and when it finally unfolded, I felt let down. The bad guy and girl were just too pathetically stupid after all that buildup.

Clint McIntyre was the type of guy who was way more complicated than he needed to be. He had too much baggage for someone like me to want to hitch a ride on and his momma issues were particularly unsavory in light of his sexual preferences. It made me question whether he even liked women and made me wonder if he secretly substituted his mother whenever he was "disciplining" a submissive. Nasty. Morganna seemed a little flighty to me. I didn't dislike her, nor did I particularly care about her. She was just, eh.

The sex in Dangerous Games was overblown and at times, silly. Clint has an emergency overnight bag that just happens to have a butt plug in it? WTF? Who the heck travels with an emergency butt plug? The premiere Dom of Atlanta, that's who. Whatever.

This book was overdone and a little overwrought in my most humble opinion. It took itself waaay too seriously and felt like an absurd caricature. I just can't recommend it. It was just okay, it wasn't awful but nor can I see where this could have been better without stripping everything down and starting again. This was my first Tempting Seals book and now I'm no longer enthusiastic to try any more. I've read Wild Card, which I loved and while it too had a lot of emotions running around it worked for me, Dangerous Games just fell flat. :(

This was awful. It took me so long to slog through it because it was so mind-numbingly boring and made no sense it was hard to muster any interest in it. It seemed that Clint was made into this Dom type and BDSM was just thrown in because it was trendy. There is nothing BDSM-like in this book remotely realistic.

Also, I know very little about the military, but even I know that you don't join the ARMY to become a NAVY SEAL. WTF? Did the author do zero research? I mean just a simple google search could have provided this information.

There are also a ton of little typos throughout the book that made me wonder if anyone bothered to edit it before it was published. Actually, the story was so jumbled and repetitive that I wondered if anyone other than the author and some of her fan-girls bothered to READ it before it was published.

I have read other Lora Leigh books that I actually enjoyed. And I have read other romantic-suspense type books with Alpha or military males that I enjoyed and I have read a lot of BDSM themed fiction, so it is not that I have a problem with any of the subject matter. It was the god-awful angst-filled writing. Clint and Morgana and their SOULS and SPIRITS and their constant push/pull relationship got so tedious. The sex was actually boring, as it became so complicated and "soul wrenching" every single time.

One bad guy uses a throw-away line about hating someone because "you got the promotion." At least two different characters use the hackneyed term "thorn in my side". Really? REALLY?

God, this was awful.

When Navy SEAL Clint "Iceman" McIntire sees the only woman who has ever threatened to break his hardened exterior at his BDSM club enticing every Dom who glimpses her way, he is unhinged. Furious that his best friend's sister has put herself in a dangerous situation, he plans to get to the bottom of it and quick and if it takes dominating her to do it.

Morganna Chavez knows that Clint is the only man who she will ever love, but as an undercover DEA agent she needs him as far away from her as possible. Clint's determination to figure out what she is hiding pushes her boundaries and soon she finds he is protecting her from danger and fighting his feelings for her with every step he takes.

Action packed and a hell of a lot of fun. Gritty, sexy, and seductive a fantastic read. Clint is raw and the ghosts from his past will always come between what he wants and what he can have, Morganna. If you have not picked up this series, do it. It is a book you pick up and don't put down but grab the next in the series.

Started off completely hating it and even put it down twice, but in the end it wasn't so bad. Clint didn't redeem himself until the end, and he was more jerk than Alpha male.
I don't get people who pine after someone for ages, and open themselves up to hurt like the heroine Morganna did, but it seemed to work in this one. There was also bit of a story, which usually isn't the case in Lora Leigh's books

I listened to this one on audiobook and really liked the writing but the audio wasn’t it for me. I feel like the narrator kind of ruined the experience for me but I had to finish it. I enjoyed the plot a lot and the way the main characters were with each other. Overall I would read more in the series but probably not listen to them.

I like Lora Leigh's books. She writes smut, and she writes it well. She can write raunchy and depraved, and she can write sweet and heart-melting. She's known for her trademark soul-binding anal sex. (Yes, it's really true, you can track it through her books.)

So I was fully prepared for a scorching read. And this one delivers, hands down, on all fronts. What it fails to deliver, however, is a dangerous hero that can overcome his shortcomings and Alpha a-hole tendencies by the end of the book to redeem himself in the eyes of the heroine. Leigh tries, but she does such a good job in the first half of the book, where Clint is posturing for the lead title of Mr. International Asshole Award, that any softening of his character in the latter half of the book just doesn't work for me.

Clint's been in love with his best friend's little sister for years, but as the victim of child abuse, he's carrying a lot of emotional baggage and doesn't deem himself worthy. So, he subjects his bestie's little sister with emotional torture while stringing her along for eight years.

His aggressive, me-Tarzan, you-Jane behaviors are also peppered with some quite child-like behaviors. When Clint sees Morganna out in a dance club (not even knowing that she's working under cover), he jerks her out of there bodily and threatens to tell on her to her older brother.

Wow. I nearly snorted wine out my nose from disgust. Really, Clint? That's the best you got to threaten a 26-year-old independent female? Telling her brother? Because you know, you did it several times.

In the end, there's an HEA, a nice resolution with the family drama, and Clint finds his jewels. All of them, as a matter of fact. But the seamless closing of the final chapters just couldn't overcome the initial demerits.

Erotic activities in sex clubs with good guys and bad guys. Ok but not recommended for buying.

I wasn’t emotionally drawn into the story. It was easy to put down. The ending was happy but didn’t elicit the emotions I like to feel at the end of the book. It was predictable. Nothing surprised or delighted me. The writing was ok. It didn’t have any of my major pet peeves.

This was a typical good guys fighting bad guys with moles and spies in each others’ camps. Clint and Reno are Navy SEALS. They grew up together and are best friends. Reno’s sister Morganna is 9 years younger. She has been in love with Clint all her life. She pursued him, but he always kept a distance. There are 3 main dominant/submissive clubs in the area. Morganna knows Clint is a dominant and frequents those clubs. She has been going to the same clubs for three years, but doesn’t go when Clint might be there to see her. She becomes an agent for the DEA and continues going to those clubs as bait in their efforts to get the bad guys involved with a new date rape drug. Clint discovers her there, and she and Clint finally get together. He has issues from his past due to abuse from his parents. The sex scenes in the story involve body piercings, rear door activity, exhibitionism, bondage and submission.

Story length: 344 pages. Sexual language: strong/erotic. Number of sex scenes: 14. Total number of sex scene pages: 56. Setting: current day Atlanta, Georgia. Copyright: 2006. Genre: erotic contemporary romance.

As a big fan of Lora Leigh, I liked this book a good deal though it wasn't my favorite. I was curious to read about Clint since he seems to irritate a lot of readers, even those who love Alphas. I really didn't think he was that bad as far as his controlling tendencies (keeping in mind this is fiction and not real life). In fact, he seemed to like it when Morganna didn't put up with his crap but gave it right back to him.

One of the reviews I read talked about him trying to keep Morganna from the D & S clubs and what a double standard that was. While he had some possessive Alpha thinking going on regarding the bars, the main reason he told her she couldn't go back to the clubs was because she was targeted for murder by the (Leigh's typically seriously awful) villains. So yes, he could be controlling, but he seemed to have Morganna's best interests at heart, namely for her to stay alive and unharmed.

What I didn't like was the way Clint struggled so very much with his feelings toward Morganna for the entire length of the book. Leigh gave a good explanation for his messed up feeling and thoughts. In fact, given that childhood, it's amazing he wasn't a brutal sociopath. I probably found that tormented and somewhat tormenting aspect of his personality the hardest to take.

Anyway, I liked Dangerous Games -- no surprise. Now I just need to read Killer Secrets and I'll have all the Tempting Seals/Elite Ops read and then wait for the next installment, Heat Seeker.

I did enjoy this, however, I do have just a couple of issues with this and I suspect that I may have given this such a high rating because I am still basking in the glow of the HEA.

Clint is an alpha male, with a troubled upbringing, who is used to getting his own way. He's into BDSM and does not appear to have much in the way of emotions. He very busy running in the other direction from his best friends sister, Morganna.

Morganna has loved Clint forever, but after many years of loving him from afar she has stopped pining and got herself a career. They are thrown together by circumstance and start to work through Clint's issues surrounding their attraction to eachother.

My main issues are this:

Firstly, I LOVE a bit of BDSM, but it was not enough of a part of this book and I was hoping for much more. It's almost as if the BDSM theme was a last minute add on, shoe horned into an existing story to make it more interesting.

Secondly, there is such an about turn in Clint's character that just defies belief. He starts the book as an arrogant jerk but by the end he's magically seen the error of his ways and start's talking about children. Has he had a labotamy?

Thirdly, Morganna let's him off the hook way too easily. I would have kicked his butt.

Despite the above I did really enjoy this book. Perhaps the characters were not quite rounded enough, or maybe it was too contrived - I don't know...something just did not quite hit the spot.

Morganna Chavez wanted to make a difference. She was tired of wanting a man that didn't seem to want her and working a job she hated and she was lonely. When Navy SEAL Clint “Iceman” McIntyre came home this time and saw his best friend's sister Morganna work the men in the club as she danced with abandon, he was sure the days of trying to think of her as a kid were forever gone.

Clint knew why he was at a club you went to when you had a certain agenda. Morganna's presence meant she'd grown up enough for that kind of hook up. He didn't know grown-up rookie DEA agent Morganna was working her first case tracking a date rape drug. A case as dangerous as any mission he'd undertaken and one that kicked his protective instincts and as usual she kicked his lust.

Because of his job, Clint refused to help his DEA friend when asked even though he knew the very dangerous players. Things were different now that Morganna was deeply involved, his friend was her boss and he was on leave. He was in it whether they wanted his involvement or not, his leave would be spent doing what he couldn't trust anyone else to do. He'd take care of Morganna.

Reno and Raven make a cameo but aren't integral to the read. This moderately successful outing treads a tightrope between romantic suspense and erotica. It succeeds if the reader accepts Morganna as an agent and remembers Clint's not only an involved and jealous alpha male, he's a warrior and a Dom who's staked a claim!

Overall, I actually really liked this book. Morganna was tough, yet feminine and Clint was definitely Alpha, and tortured. What did bother me, was that I could not handle the fact that Clint kept rejecting her, for 8 freaking years. is he insane? And he keeps doing that later, when everyone knows that they love each other. For a Dom, he was pretty masochistic. Too much baggage, so not exactly my type. I think alphas who are just alphas because they are (not because of crappy childhoods) are my type.

I really liked the other male characters introduced though. All of them, and there are many hunky men, waiting for their own stories. Joe and Macey are the ones I remember off the top of my head. yum. Very good intro for both of them. I liked Drage Masters too, except for his dumb name. How the hell do you say it? And his security lady person was pretty awesome too. I keep thinking that they are supposed to be together, yet they aren't...

Maybe the only real problem may be the villains. Its as if they can't be criminals unless they are demented or something. All of the hard core baddies were messed up in the head, like using rape as a punishment and such (that thought happened twice). Well, then again, who was really reading it for that subplot?

Not as entertaining as Leigh's Breeds books.

The date-rape drug plot has potential, but there are constant references to events that have no foundation or build up.

Another problem is the lack of realistic characterization. Although Morgana is supposedly a DEA agent of some kind, she has absolutely no skills in this area and her only qualification seems to be that she looks good in a mini-skirt.

Clint is a compelling tortured hero despite his domineering tendencies but how exactly does one become a Navy SEAL after joining the ARMY?! It would seem that Leigh skimped on her research into the arms of the military.

Clint and Morgana have good chemistry and a strong emotional connection but the angst in their relationship gets old after a while.

The series continues with other members of Clint's SEAL team and I will probably read them sometime.

Considering I couldn't stand Clint for about, oh, 75% of the book, I'm very surprised that I ended up rating this book as highly as I did. I think I've probably been oversaturated by Lora Leigh lately. But this one ended up on a great note. I thought Morganna's character was absolutely awesome...I really liked her a lot. The sex scenes were absolutely incredible and very, very detailed. Clint did end up redeeming himself in the last 25% of the book, and there was a lot left open for future books (I love this group of SEALS), and the plot with the investigation into the date rape drug that is so much worse than Roofies was pretty interesting. Reno's still my favorite though out of this series...Clint, given his history, does get a pass, but I'm really glad that Morganna stood up for herself throughout the book. Very nice solid read with hot SEALS who are active...I haven't found a lot of books lately that have actual active SEALs (most of them are retired) so this one was good to read.

Enjoyed this romantic suspense. it certainly was hot! However, I am NOT a fan of the H or h constantly pushing away, it's just gets so bloody old and Cliint did this the. Whole. Way. Through. He did my freaking head in. Morganna redeemed the book for me, without her this would have been a serious fail.

On to the next one, please let that not be a push-away fest like this one was

Can I have this alpha male please.......... wow hot or what. This story was hot and thrilling and had me hot under the collar on many occasions. The sexual chemistry and heat coming off the pages should have set the book alight. The suspense part of the story was fantastic too, even Clint's tortured soul sat well with the overall feel of the book. This is a thrill ride you dont want to get off!!
