okay okay okay so I finally found it!!!!!! My favorite case! It's "Heiji's Struggle" I AM JUST IN LOVE!

1.CAUSE I ALMOST cracked almost half of the code before the case ended!

2. also I loved the code and how it was cracked at the end.

3. not to mention Heiji was in this case DUH!

4. Omg and when he said he will say what he will say a million times I died omg
KAZUHA AND HEIJI FOREVAAAAAAAA cuz we all know heiji was gonna confess!

5. The first case about the dolls was a good changer since no one died and no one got arrested thank god!

6.The case about the MASK WOLF REMINDED ME SO MUCH OF TIGER MASK AND I WANTED TO CRY SINCE NO ONE TRANSLATED TIGER MASK ON THE INTERNET *SOBS*.

So i know that i said every case is like legit amazing but I have to emphasis again that "Heiji's Struggle" case is now like my fav! My TRUE FAV!

On to the next volume ~

This volume picks up exactly where the last one left off…with our heroes with a gun pointed at them in a car driving on a snowy and slushy winter road. Detective Conan makes it to the drop off location in time, but I felt this story left me feeling unfulfilled when it concluded. I believe it almost…almost had zero effect on the overall story when all was said and done. The next story deals with not a murder, but a theft! A valuable scroll is missing and the Junior Detectives are on the case! This is a fun story which is a nice break from the murders as we have had a lot of them, back to back to back to back to back. The next story is the reason for the cover as it’s about a pro wrestling murder! The culprit appears to be the famous masked wrestler who goes by the name of Wolf Face! But is it what it appears to be? This case was made extra fun by some of the commentary by the creator at the end of the book. The final story of this volume picks up with Harley already tied up and in a bind. I love, love, loved that way to start a story! It definitely made an impact on me and was a great technique that I hope they use more in the future.

I can see by the reviews that I'm in the minority on this one, but this volume was boring to me. The end to the case from the last volume was meh, but I guess it's nice to see that the people of The Organisation aren't all brute strength. The wall scroll case was an even more boring detour, but I think that's a me-thing, because I'm not a fan of the kid detectives most of the time. I think the pro-wrestling case might have been the best, but mostly because the wrestling is treated as real, when I'm pretty sure it's the type that's "just" performance. It makes the case kind of hilarious, because the whole "I'll only show my face/identity when I'm unmasked after losing" is very much decided beforehand, since it's a performance. My only thought on the last case is that it felt rushed.

The first book of the new year. Hope the others will be as good!

This time Conan tracks the organization and gets stuck in a locker. Who found him friend or foe?

Amy takes her friends to get her new girl day dolls and a very expensive wall hanging goes missing was it stolen?

Conan, Ran, and Mouri go to a wrestling show and the antagonist of the main match is murdered was it his opponent or someone else?

And finally, Heiji and Kazuha are supposed to come to visit Conan but are late. They've been kidnapped and it's up to Conan to figure out who and why. And time is running out!

Wrapping up the tread with the Black Organization. A Girls Day themed mystery with the Detective Boys, followed by a sudden murder at Teito Professional Wrestling with the Mori family and Conan. Ending with aa abducted Heiji and Kazuha.

The black organization appearance is more of a shot in the arm than anything really happening. The Detective Boys story is cute, as always, (and nobody died!) and we got to see a killer wresting technique from Ran.

Conan's escape from the Black Organization was thrilling. I can't help but admire Gin because he seems to have a keen eye for details.
The dolls case was really sweet. The last case withe Heiji was amusing.

After a case with the detective boys and a wrestling case, there is another case with Heiji. This one involves an exciting code.

Aoyama Gosho; DETECTIVE CONAN [Meitantei Conan #38]

e/read online; genre: { manga, mystery, shounen }; shelves: |comics, GN, manga, manhua, manhwa|

General Synopsis:
As mentioned above, I am going to write a proper review for this soon, but I have a few books ahead of this one in the queue, so I cannot stop reading DC NOW! That's sacrilege. I have decided to read all the chapters available up to now (we are almost to 1000!) As you can see, I am totally fangirling over here and I don't care, because this is one of my favorite manga series, ever! But all of this aside, there are a few things I wanted to list so I don't need to go back and look everything up when I do finally sit down and write my fangirl review. ✌🏻

V.38, includes Files 383 - 392

DO NOT click on the spoiler link if you don't want to read all the cases in this volume, because it will ruin it for you. On the other hand, if you're a fan like me or are looking for a certain case (and please note, these are how I have set the cases), etc. click away, that's why it's there.

Another spoiler link, so don't click if you don't want to ruin this manga. I am going to include the characters introduced or as the series continues are in this volume. Personally, I think us DC fans love certain characters more than other (yes, Heiji, I mean you!), so sometimes when we are re-reading this series (like all the time!) you might wish to start at a specific case or start when a certain character is involved.

Characters in this volume:

Personal Opinion:
#1, I never call this CASE CLOSED. If you do, you're not a true fan of this series, so don't even bother reading my review or my personal opinions. I'm sorry if I offend you, but you offended me first by telling me you want to read CASE CLOSED or you just love Jimmy.

#2, as you can tell by #1, I read this online. I would never waste my money buying a manga series in english that cannot get the name correct and mess up the main characters to make it appear more "ENGLISH." I am so happy I don't run a blog and this isn't a review on Sailor Moon, #1, because I have a huge soap box tirade against DiC. I also don't think there is anything against reading something online. Comics, which is what manga are, are meant to be read and shared and sometimes paying over $10 is too much in my opinion. Plus, I read the newest chapters as soon as they are released from Japan, because I would never miss a release of DC. So this is my personal shout out to you translators from me, Thank You!

A PERILOUS ENCOUNTER
On their way to meet Vodka of the Black Organization, Conan and Professor Agasa’s car breaks down near a Tokyo subway construction site. A fortunate hitchhike with a couple in a BMW soon turns suspicious when Conan notices the man struggling with the left-hand drive, unusual for Japan. As they pass a police checkpoint, they learn that jewelry thieves have abandoned their getaway car nearby—raising the stakes on their mysterious ride.

THE STOLEN HEIRLOOM: A HINAMATSURI MYSTERY
The Detective Boys accompany Ayumi to an apartment where she is offered a new set of Hinamatsuri dolls in exchange for arranging them correctly. While there, a neighbor and an art expert arrive, showing interest in a rare Edo-era Raijin painting. After the owners refuse to sell due to its sentimental value, the neighbor reminds them of their financial struggles. Later, when the children return from an errand, they find the apartment ransacked, the owners missing, and the priceless artwork stolen.

MURDER IN THE RING: THE CASE OF WOLF FACE
At the Tohto Sumo Stadium, Conan, Ran, and Kogoro witness the shocking murder of a rising wrestler set to challenge the legendary Wolf Face. Security footage reveals the attacker disguised in Wolf Face’s signature mask, casting suspicion on four wrestlers with similar builds. As the investigation unfolds, Conan must determine who is hiding behind the mask of a killer.

HOSTAGE CRISIS: THE ATTORNEY’S DEADLY CODE
Heiji, Kazuha, and Detective Kusukawa are held captive in a secluded attic, forced to crack a code leading to incriminating evidence against a tax fraud ring. Meanwhile, Conan, Ran, and Kogoro search for their missing friends, following cryptic clues left behind. The hunt leads them to a powerful attorney who will stop at nothing to keep her crimes buried—unless Heiji can solve the code before time runs out.

Caso "Tienes Que Luchar. Si No Luchas, No Puedes Vencer.

In this volume, Conan tried to take on the Black Organization, but it nearly turns out worse than he could ever have expected. Then there's a robbery from a home with hina dolls set up, a murder at a wrestling show and a visit from Heiji and Kazuha that gets derailed when they get kidnapped and the kidnappers demand they solve a code.

As usual, the story with the guest stars is the one I prefer, and in this book it's the Heiji and Kazuha story. Partly just because of the misunderstandings going on there, and partly because that they're surprisingly cool with the whole thing. Well, that's not the right way to put it exactly, but their faith in Conan/Mouri trumps everything. Man though... the code in that one had me a little confused about how they worked it out, even after they explained it. O.o

The characters in this series are mostly used to forward plot, and the overarching plot is largely ignored in favor of mysteries. The writer clearly enjoys and unders mystery writing though.

Called it Manga-Week hahaha. I think this series is the most worth-comparing-to-price comics. So many descriptions rather than illustrations hahaha.
