A book forged in the fiery Louisiana sun, everything a non-native needs to pick the poetry that hangs from the trees of these poems is readily available. The cover of the book and its eerie title do not account for the sardonic grin these pages unfold. From trees to recipes the book reads like a poetic travel guide, a joy for residents and non-residents alike.

I listened to him read some of his work aloud at a literary reading. His prose is only surpassed (in my opinion), by his poetry. A beautiful book.
