This book series had been on life support for months, and the final nail was finally placed in the coffin after this load of horse manure. If the writers could have simply kept with the original format, this series could still be going on today.

Dan Didio's embarrassingly shoddy writing, particularly in dialogue, is so horrendous at times his work seems almost a satire of the superhero team genre. A barely tolerable series when Batman was in charge, it flounders badly without his presence. Current leader of the team Geo-Force is king of his country Markovia. His squabbling with his former teammates goes on for eight interminable issues. Ludicrously named "heroes" in stupid costumes fight other similarly asininely attired "heroes" over various slights, perceived or otherwise.

Lots of talk about people being brought to justice and/or paying for what they have done. A rotating cast of super-powered losers pop up out of nowhere to challenge each other to fights. The art is more generic than the bottom-shelf cereal at the local Walmart. Calling the characters a bunch of squabbling children would be an insult to squabbling children.

SPOILER ALERT............... Batman shows up at the end and yells at everyone to behave so they do. The end. I just saved you 18 bucks and an hour and a half of your life. Grade: F

I believe I reviewed Dan Didio's take on the Outsiders as a whole when I reviewed The Road to Hell but I might as well use this as an opportunity to rag on about this horrid run. I don't understand how this could have been green lit if anybody else had submitted the scripts. There are story arcs that have different events but they still link to the main story-line. I fear that this series is over until a better writer with a better understanding of the characters can take over.
