This book was ok. In the introduction he mentions that he didn't want to include, "the most hackneyed and the most obvious" Christmas poems. I appreciate that goal! If every editor of Christmas poetry included the same 50-100 poems we would never discover new favorites among the myriads of poems written about this time of year and especially Christ's coming to earth! Unfortunately his choices fell flat for me. I found myself looking forward to the several "hackneyed and obvious" entries just to break of the monotony of meh.
