With the 6th, and final, installment of the Vampire Babylon Series, Chris Marie Green brings to conclusion Costin’s search for the “Dragon” and wins him the chance to reclaim his soul.
The members of Limpet & Associates have “possession” of one of the two Underground Masters, Claudius (aka Claudia), and the girls of Queenshill are determined to get to him. Oh, they don’t want to rescue him! They want to kill him. They are tired pf playing second fiddle to Claudius when it comes to Wolfie’s affections and they are determined to rectify the situation for good.

I found this to be a very bad ending through the whole book. It seemed to me that the author got bored with the story and just decided to end it and skipped many event and sped through a lot more. the whole book was fast paced to the point where i was questioning many things and wondering if there was a book I had skipped by accident.

This was a satisfying end to this series of books. The story is full of suspense, action, and love that will keep fans of the first 5 books happy until the end.

It was a great ending to a series that kept me hanging on to every single plot point and questioning everything and everyone. It really truly makes me so sad that this series never found it's audience. It's a great series if you like vampires, romance, mystery, ghosts, mild horror.

We're back, one last time. A master vampire has been caught, the Underground shall be found. The Dragon will be found. The ending is nigh.
You know, there really isn't much to discuss about in this book, other than the end. It really was just more of the same. Trying to get information, Costin running off on his own. Dawn wanting to be in on the option. There are three things worth talking about though.
The first is how much I hate this new idea of putting Dawn's anger onto her face, literally. Like seriously. Apparently anger at the situation is a bad thing. It is so bad that it is evil literally erupting out on her face for the world to see. Gimme a break, will you? What kind of nonsense is this. Ever the fucking martyr, Dawn is.
The second is about her mom, Eva. Green just couldn't leave well enough alone, could she? Eva's story was mostly wrapped up, all she had to do was help Eva find peace. Instead, Green goes the opposite way and just fucks everything up once again. Everything was mostly solved but noooo lets add a demon deal into the mix! Perfect. (Authors, please stop watching Supernatural, I beg of you). If that weren't bad enough, she gets toss as bad an ending as the rest of the story had.
Which is the last thing to talk about. Just how bad an ending this was. We've spent six books now getting to this point. At first we didn't know what was going on, and we had to battle and claw our way into understanding literally anything. When we finally got some knowledge, we knew what the end goal was, finally. It took three books to come to that point. Everything else since then has just been wasting time to get to the part everyone actually wanted to see.
And then it took 5 minutes and a single line to happen.
And then I realised I still had 30% of the book to go.
I mean, really? What the hell.
30% of relationship drama, her shitty mom's storyline, self-loathing, and all the worst parts of the series. Absolute joy of an ending.

The big wrap-up.
The Highgate Underground is destroyed and, well I’m not going to tell you other than it’s BIG. And some things happen that are ‘Oh, No’, but turn out OK. But others don’t. In fact I wish/hope there’s more books coming to finish up some ends.
Lots of crying for me in here especially for Dawn. But also for what happens to the remaining girls.
I love the whole part when their headquarters is attacked and they have to make a hasty retreat, it’s very exciting, though some details were unclear for a while. And there’s several “Indian Jones’ type moment which are cool.
Breisi is so loyal. I love her. Not sure if either Costin or Frank deserve her. And the final chapter is just perfect.
Quick Thoughts: 1) Through most of this the custodes seem to be just 1 step behind then all of a sudden they’re ahead, doesn't make sense.
2) I’m glad Dawn and Kalin finally work things out.
Fave Scenes: the girls headed down the basement stairs, the Queenshill survivors returning to the pub, Jonah flipping Dawn around during the fight in the shrine and Whisper’s story.

A reread of an old favourite.
This is my favourite book in the series and I just adore every single part of it. I love how all the plot threads are drawn together, I love how the characters are developed (Della and Eva, in particular, get a LOT of meaty stuff) and I just love how well it succeeds at feeling like an epic conclusion. Really, really satisfying. And I am so sad that the series ended here. :(
Reread #We're in the millions at this point: I absolutely ADORE this book. Probably my favourite one in the series. Dawn and Claudia/Claudius both get so much meaty stuff here, and their interactions are absolute FIRE in this…. And, uh, there are other characters too. XD

Feeling a bit out of sorts at the ambiguous ending of the story arc as well as the somewhat weird vibe that this last book left me with. While it was as full of action as I like, the pace was choppier than expected and some of the plot just did not gell for me like in the last book. Anyway after waiting to read these Dawn Madison books in the Vampire Babylon series can say overall they were worth it, if for nothing else learning about the different types of vamps and their guardians that the Chris Marie Green conjured out of her imagination while also combining tried and true vamp lore.

I have a problem with reading the last book in a well-loved series such as this. I never want them to end you see. But in this case I tricked myself by listening to the audible version. I absolutely adored it. The reader was fantastic and I was able to enjoy the finale in the fashion the author intended. As with the other books in this series there is mystery, action, adventure and other fun stuff. If you haven’t tried this series I really recommend that you start with Night Rising (Vampire Babylon, #1) and go from there.

One thing I enjoy with reading Chris's books.
She keeps your interest, and keeps you guessing. Wanting to just keep reading, as you go.
I actually had this finished 3 days ago, but was away.
So that should show you. I did not want to put it down, until more things resolved or revealed.
This story arc closed. With some things, left. That this character, and storyline.
Need to be revisited, and given more books, to continue tying up some loose ends.
Hope the publisher, lets her write some more, this series.
I like roaming through Chris story twists and turns.
