I love this series, the first book is semi short but pack full of passion, intrigue, and hints towards the next book. This was a reread for me.
**Reread, still my favorite in the series. Carefully crafted with little pebbles of hints fo the next book.
This was a short 70 page story. The story and characters were ok but I just didn't love this story. The premise of the story was ;

I am a sucker for the shy, petite heroine who is running away from an abusive situation theme. Especially when there is a strong, take charge ALPHA male who is totally attracted to her. This story just pushed it a bit much for me. I think because it was only 70 pages that their passion, and may I say was hot and sizzling, was rushed. I mean, one minute she can't even look at the hero, in the blink of an eye she is spread out in his office having mad passionate sex. The hero is understanding of Sara's problems with an over possessive ex and her fear of him but because of the hero's lust filled heart, steam rolls over her to make her his. I don't know just seemed a bit to contrived not believable. Maybe it was because being a short story the author could not develop the story and relationships at a believable pace. As far as recommending this short story, well I would probably tell you to give it a pass. There are better short stories out there.
I really wanted to give this book 5 stars, but I felt like when I started the book that I was coming into the middle of the story instead of the beginning...there could have been a great lead in story and everything happened at such a fast pace....I do have to say though that it was a great short read and I will read the next one.
Didn't live up to its billing for me. I like introvert heroines and heroes who actually like that quality in them. This book does have that but it's just not long enough to allow any believable characterisation or my emotional engagement with the main characters. I should have liked this more. (p.s. It's way too expensive for the length)
I was disappointed that the romance seemed to happen so suddenly, but when I read that it had been brewing for four months I understood. The part where Sara attached her ex-boyfriend was hysterical. I loved it.
