Exposing his enemy's foundation as a fraud meant Brandon Dilson must pose as a charity case. In reality, the laid-back ranching magnate knew all about living large. It was exquisite irony that the foundation sent him to an image consultant. And a delicious bonus that she was the gorgeously buttoned-up Paige Adams.
For this self-made career woman, their affair was as ill-advised as it was inevitable. Not only had she mixed business with pleasure, she was about to find out she'd fallen for an imposter. But Paige had a surprise for Brandon, as well -- one that might alter the course of their lives...

This book is part of a series but I read it as a standalone without any problem. I prefer high tempo action packed books. This book was more along the lines of a slow Sunday drive. The story offered very little suspense. It had no drama, or action. It was just a sweet love story. Page, and Brandon had one fight throughout the entire story, and quickly made up. The suspense of the story was leading up to the end, and how page would find out who Bandon really was. I was a little disappointed. Once the big secret was out, Page fell into his arms, and the two proclaimed they loved one another. She never questioned him. I felt the book didn't have enough depth. It was a good story, just slow, and sweet. Almost too slow. If you are in the mood for a very light read, this is it. Take my review with a grain of salt. Not everyone is going to love the same book. Just because this book was not for me, you on the other hand may love it.
Brandon Worth, billionaire and heir to Worth industries is sent away to the East coast for boarding school after his mother's suicide. Brandon is bitter and resentful toward his father, whom he blames, and somewhat toward his sister, who he feels always was the favorite. It's many years later and Brandon, estranged from the Worth family, controls the family ranch in California. His father's company has been taken over by Cameron Enterprise. Brandon suspects that Hannah's Hope, a Cameron charitable organization, is a fraud so he goes undercover as cowboy Brandon Dilson, illiterate ranch hand. He's to receive an award for his progress through Hannah's Hope, so the organization sends him to image consultant/party organizer Paige Adams. Paige strives on order and self reliance. An alcoholic mother and neglectful childhood have taught Paige that she can only rely on herself and that security is everything. She finds herself attracted to Brandon Dilson, even though he's not necessarily financially stable and the type of guy she sees herself with long-term. Brandon needs inside information and Paige might be helpful for his agenda and even if she isn't, she'd sure be fun to play around with. So a no string attached affair begins that grows deeper each day and neither one expected.
This is a 6 part series as of June 7th 2011. I read book #6 first, then #5. Book #6 can stand on it's own but I probably should have read the other books before #5. The fact that I didn't only affected a scene or two but I tend to dislike reading out of order. The book was ok and both characters are generally likable. Paige is super accepting, particularly in the end and that felt a bit unbelievable. She doesn't even question Brandon when she realizes the truth. I liked that they spend a lot of time together even though both are trying to distance themselves. It was cute and sweet. Brandon is a nice guy who seems to really care about making Paige happy and comfortable. For that reason I'd say I liked it better than book #5 but not by much. Still, nothing wrong with these books, they just aren't amazing.
There's also a short 6 page flashback of Rafe and Sarah (The Hero and Heroine of Book #6 by Catherine Mann) which you get in snippets in book #6 but it's cute to read anyway.
In Exposed:Her Undercover Millionaire , the estranged Worth heir has been trying to find fault with Hannah's Hope, the foundation started by Rafe Cameron, since he feels guilty about abandoning his family, undercover. He is sent to Paige to prepare him for a ceremony, she's an image consultant. They get together despite Paige not knowing his real identity, both had lousy parents. Not a bad read.

This is book 5 of the Takeover series from Harlequin. This one uses the "mistaken identity" motif as Brandon Dilson Worth captures Paige Adams heart. Brandon is the Ronald Worth's long-lost son. He does not want his father or his sister to know he's returned to his hometown.
I liked this book a lot. It had cowboys and millionares and fundraising galas. The heroine was strong and independent, the hero had a great transformation.
