About the author

Jane Palmer’s first title, “The Planet Dweller”, was published by The Women’s Press in their science fiction list in 1985. They also published “The Watcher” (now republished by Dodo as “The Kybion”) in 1986, and the sequel to “The Planet Dweller”, “Moving Moosevan”, in 1990.
Swift Publishers published “The Drune” (now republished as “Babel’s Basement” by Dodo) in 1999.
The author also illustrates under the name of Dandi Palmer.

Really enjoyed this tale of weird goings on under the Earth's crust. An Astronomer gets evidence of a UFO from one of his students and a Geologist falls down a rabbit hole. They discover an underground that is on the verge of wiping out the world and an heroic Drune who, despite its status as a member of an underclass, attempts to help.
Some fine characters and intriguing ideas told with intelligence and humour.
