Homeschoolers need to know how to keep simple, accurate high school records in order to create a transcript that will "wow" college admissions counselors. Transcripts Made Easy is designed to be simple and doable, even for parents who are getting a late start in record-keeping, or who aren't completely comfortable with using the computer. This third edition of the classic Transcripts Made Easy covers everything parents need in order to assign grades, grant credit, and keep the right records. New in this edition is a chapter on Records and Transcripts for Special Needs Students, quotes from college admissions counselors on what they want to see in the homeschool transcript, and more information on granting credit and weighted grades for AP and honors courses. Transcripts Made Easy provides clear, step-by-step instructions for creating several types of transcripts using simple word processing software that most people already know how to use. This compact book is all homeschool parents need to know about keeping records and creating a transcript for high school!
This is very reassuring that transcripts don't need to be overthought! I recommend this book for homeschooling parents whose children are approaching the high school years. I also appreciated how the author discussed many alternatives to college.
I don’t dislike it. But I read it at the end of my research so it added only a little bit to what I’d already learned. I will say it didn’t have many transcript examples to give ideas on the various formats… I found those elsewhere. Seeing a variety of examples (elsewhere) was what I found most helpful to me. I would have expected it in this book, given the title. So it’s not my favorite. But I’m not mad about it or anything. :)
