So, in a nutshell - Dillon is American and in less than 8 hours has picked up the twins Irish accent (like, really?). Been drugged unconscious for 4 hours. Met twin mates, had sex twice, came in his pants once and fell to his knees crying when Shane said he wanted to take it slow because he thought Shane wouldn't want him. Yeah, a 'supposed' macho guy crying throughout the book? Not my thing.

I really enjoyed this story. It takes place a few weeks after Stefan (Marius Brothers, #3) and tells Dillon's story. At the same time it is the beginning of a new series, this one set in Ireland.

Dillon is a man in conflict and looking for a home. He struggles with being heir to a bigoted a-hole of a man, Abraham Dragos (who appeared as villain in previous books). Two of his younger brothers are gay and mated to a different Marius brother, and have already faced their father's wrath. When Dillon finds his mates (twin brothers, but there is no sex between them) in Ireland, he is ready to do anything to have a family again.

Sean and Shawn are very cute. They are farmers, but know how to fight for themselves and their mate. Sean's talent with technology also comes in very handy on the mission Dillon was sent on. Both of them are as ready to give up their lives for Dillon as he is ready to make sacrifices for them. They live in a healthy working family and can see how much Dillon misses because he hasn't got that.

This is a book about finding a home in an unexpected place. While Dillon's transformation from a warrior to a man who puts his mates above everything else was fast, it was logical. It's another entertaining vampire story which is more about the people involved than what it means to be a vampire.

Holy shit. Where do I start? I don't even know how this book found its way on to my Kindle. This book was horrendous. Seriously, I don't know where to start. First, it's about gay vampires but no sort of vampire I recognize. Then the vampire comes to Ireland from the USA and meets his soul mates, a set of twins. And the written Irish dialect is laughable. There's more but I'd like to forget I wasted my brain power on this book.

Ms Flynn has another winner on her hands with this book. There aren't any holes or jumping around except for the reason the Marius Brothers are there. That seemed to lay as a loose end until the very end. The other problem is what happened with Caleb? I can only imagine that a Caleb book is in the works.

There's just nothing quite as sexy to me as a hot vampire with an accent. I was completely charmed by the Irish twins introduced in A Dillon Sandwich. While this is the first in The O'Hagan Way series, it is an extension of the beloved Marius Brothers books. If you've not had the occasion to check these books out, you really have missed out on a fantastic series and will want to rectify that as soon as you can.

The beginning demonstrates in a humorous way that Dillon Dragos is completely out of his element in Ireland as the big, bad, American warrior receives the equivalent of a clown car at the airport's car rental stand. This scene was written so well that I could actually picture the expression on Dillon's face when he first sees the vehicle.

The Marius and O'Hagan families are so different, but share the same loyalty and devotion. I enjoyed meeting the Irish counterparts to the loving Marius bunch. The dialogue between members of the family is real and relaxed. They deal with common familial issues such as sibling rivalry, being busted by the folks for swearing, laughing, crying, celebrating and mourning with each other as a unit. Ms. Flynn is unerringly consistent with her character development. The reader becomes familiar with the personalities of the individuals so much so that it's easy to know how they will react to any given situation. I found myself bracing for impact when Riley (from the first Marius book) had a rude comment directed toward him. I just knew he was going to go nuclear, and he did not disappoint.

I find it refreshing to read about uncommon relationships. While Dillon's mates are smaller than him they fight vehemently to protect their warrior mate. Shane and Sean O'Hagan show Dillon how to be a real family through demonstrating amazing and unconditional love. Both twins also show Dillon the wild side of mating, with fire code violating sex scenes that melt right off the page.

The Irish brogue is written phonetically which worried me at first glance. It ceased to be a concern when I laughed like a school girl at the comment made by Shane's father when Dillon pulled up in the “clown car” mentioned above. “Welcome to Ireland, where we stuff ya inta our wee cars.” As you can see, the spelling really adds to the realism and hilarity of the scene. As this is a new branch of an ongoing series, Joyee Flynn ensures it can be read by itself by giving a recap of events and roles established in previous books.

A Dillon Sandwich is about so much more than the special bond shared between Dillon and his mates. I adored this tale about family, true family, and the lengths these people will go to in order to preserve the values they hold dear. A healing love through demonstration is illustrated with real emotion and attention to detail. I have recommended this book to others, and have re-read it several times. I'm confident you'll be eager to read the next book in this series, as you come to care for the family as much as I do. I'll end with my favorite quote from the book: “You and Sean are my solace, my reason for living and fighting with everything I have in me.”

3.5 stars. I liked this story, actually a bit more than the Marius Brothers stories so far. I don't know if that says more for the fact that the more hot men involved, the better for me, or for the fact that Joyee just writes good stories ;). Either way, if you plan to read this story, you can read it on its own, but let me tell you, it is best if you read the first three Marius Brothers stories first because there are things mentioned that will have more context if you have the full background.

This is the first in a new off-shoot series called The O'Hagan Way, and I assume Calebs' story is next. This series has a family with four sets of identical twins, and when you mate with one twin, you mate with the other, as a set. I should point out, though, for those that find it offputting, there is no sex between the twins, hence the sandwich reference in the book title. Dillon discovers he is mated to the babies in the family, Shane and Sean. Caleb, towards the end of the story, shows as the mate of one of the middle sets of twins, Liam and Lorcan.

The story is set around the dissapearance of a number of key vampire figures in the Irish community, and it comes to light that humans have kidnapped them using a neurotoxin injected with darts shot from a rifle. This is ingenius because apart from curiosity over the rarity of one set of identical twins, let alone four, this alone gives Micahs mate, Dr Johnson, a role to play, as well as Noah who sets up with Stefan making a new type of weapon.

This story does finish off some threads as far as the name of Dragos is concerned and finishes with Dillon becoming an O'Hagan. I think this will probably be the same for Caleb, because as an orphan, he doesn't have a last name either. With more than enough action, romance and lust for the best of us, make sure you nab this one for a read. Nx

Let me start by saying that I have already read the majority of the books in this series and was following it for a long time. I lost track of it and realized recently that I had about 4 new books in the Marius World Series to read. But it has been a long time since I read some of them, and I couldn't really remember much of the overarching plot. I also hadn't read much of the "Beyond the Marius Brothers" stories and never even added the ones I read onto Goodreads.
I decided to take up the challenge of re-reading all the books (21 so far) in this series chronologically and writing a few thoughts on each. So I will set new dates to the "read date" section as I go along.

A Dillon Sandwich was great. I loved being introduced to the O'Hagan clan and imagining their Irish accent in my head. I really liked Dillon and thought he was a big teddy bear. The book was realistic IMO. Issues that appeared in the previous books, like abuse and rape and torture that just disappear and don't seem to affect the MC were not there in this book. Sure Dillon had a lot to deal with, given all the BS his father was handing out, but he cried, had panic attacks, broke down etc, like a normal person.

I really liked the Twins. I want to say that their characters aren't developed well enough for me to distinguish them, but whatever, I didn't care.

Wow! Ms. Flynn has done it again! Why am I not surprised? When I first read the blurb for this book, I almost waited to read it just because I was not sure how being mated to twins was going to work since in all of her other books, none of the mates were related to each other. I am happy to say my concerns were totally put to rest, this book is just as hot, and the world building is just as spectacular as all of her other books. I loved Dillon’s secret gift and how he was able to use it to help the O’Hagans and their friends. I will not spoil it for everyone by telling you what it is, but suffice it to say, you will so not be disappointed; it adds some real spice to the story. Now I am waiting with baited breath for the next book in this series which I am certain is going to be every bit as good as this one and well worth the wait! I encourage anyone who loves paranormal romance, even if you have never read gay romance, to check this one out. It is very very good!

This book was reviewed for Musings of a bookworm

This is a spin off from The Marius Brother's series and I have to say Yum. If you can get past the hockey accent she has tried to write it, and believe me when I say it is hockey and then some, the story is really hot. we met Dillon in book 2 of the Marius Brothers series and so we already know he has an ass for a father so it comes as no surprise when his father shows just what an ass he is. This is a really sweet story about family and is a great opener to this spin off series. Here we have 5 sets of twins and each set will have 1 mate. Watching Dillon and his mates work things out is a treat and I have to say had it not been a hot read I would have got really annoyed at the accent as it comes off as a bit derogatory, I am not sure the author has really heard the Northern Irish accent, the Da and Ma is about the only bit that felt right. OK rant over I did like the book and will be reading more in this series as we get a taster during this one of book 2 and yes I have bought it already!!

Dillon Dragos is sent to Ireland to investigate disappearances and meets his mate, oh wait, mates. Identical twin mates. Off the bat there were so many things that they had to consider. IF (big if) the mated Dillon would they go back to America away from their large family who really couldn't afford to lose two hands from the farm? How would Dragos's father handle the news that another of his sons was mated to a man? Did Dillon really want to subject his mates to his father's hatred and tendency to try and kill his sons’ mates? He is the Dragos heir and is required to live at family manor. Let's not forget that he is in Ireland to do a job, which quickly turned deadly.

My favorite thing about this is you get to see Dillon and the type of person that he is. He deserved some love and happiness.

Caleb floored me and made me sad all at the same time. Wow, his mates were aggressive! I might have run too! Now I have to wait!

Recomendable.

I haven't completely finished reading this book. My problem? Well it's well written with an intresting plot so it's not that. It's that I can't connect with the characters and that I personally feel the story is so rushed that it doesn't flow. I hate saying this because I've read a lot of Joyee Flynn's work and have really enjoyed it but this time it didn't work for me. What really bothers me is that I just don't get the heart of the characters. I wonder if this is because I haven't read the first book but even with that I'd expect that I'd get character detail with the characters involved in this book.

typical joyee flynn serial romance. nothing fantastic, nothing so bad it can't be finished. what is typical joyee flynn? imagine a shorter harlequin romance but with no t&a (see, i was going to write no surprise pregnancies, but... yeah.).

out of sheer laziness, i will be using this as my template for all books by :
joyee flynn
sunny day
lynn hagen
stormy glenn
scarlett hyacinth
carol lynne
gabrielle evans

unless otherwise noted. i'd apologize, but i'm not sorry. i figure it's about as much time as they put into their books. dammit! well, i made it all the way to the end being rather moderate in my assessment. that's a win

A fun read and not going to rip it into shreds over some of the content choices, still had a huh moment when Dillon says at the very start of the story, that he and his brothers were unaware that Noah was missing... At a point where there was only him Isaac and Noah who were brothers. Again as the first book of a spinoff there is some foundation building for the books that follow and some fallback on established characters from previous storied to help this one fly.

This is a series set in Ireland. The family has sets of twins. So when a mate is found he has two mates. This is not like three mates. The twins are just mates with the same man. There are lots of funny scenes and other great scenes. Love this series. Joyee Flynn is a great author. I love reading all the books.

1 problem i had was that Dillon was the 2nd child in the Remus and Noah story and that's why his father didn't bother with him much, but in this story he is the oldest child or am i really wrong in what i remember
