In this book, readers will discover how to recognize happiness in themselves and others, how to best respond to it, and how to communicate about these feelings. Social and emotional learning (SEL) concepts support growth mindset throughout, while Try This! and Grow with Goals activities at the end of the book further reinforce the content. Vibrant, full-color photos and carefully leveled text engage young readers as they learn more about emotions. Also includes sidebars, a table of contents, glossary, index, and tips for educators and caregivers. Feeling Happy is part of Jump!'s Minding Emotions series.
Books that focus on emotions is important to kids, and this book is a great example of how they can acknowledge what makes them happy.
Feeling Happy provides discussion prompts for before and after reading to encourage critical thinking. What does happiness mean to you? The writing is age-appropriate and the photos of kids displaying their happiness are infectious. I like that the book does not only focus on what makes a child happy, but also on how they can recognize happiness in others and how they can bring happiness to others.
Very decent, short, easy to understand book. I think it's important for little ones to understand how feelings work, so they develop into healthier adults.
