إنه لأمر شاق أن تبدأ قراءة القصة وأنت منحاز لفئة العدو (العرب هنا) ولكنه مقزز عندما ترى أبطال القصة (أفراد القوات الجوية الخاصة البريطانية ساس) يقتلون الناس وكأنهم هوام تطير لمصارعها

اخترت الرواية لظني أن فيها شيئاً من المعلومات العسكرية وشيئاً من التاريخ وفيها ذلك... ولكن لا تستحق معاناة قراءة رواية رتيبة مملة رغم أحداث القتل والترويع والمغامرة والتي أراها مفتعلة ولا يوجد فيها إثارة حقيقية أو حبكة روائية... وإنما حوارات فارغة ونكات سخيفة وبطولة جوفاء للإنجليز على حساب أهل الأرض والذين يصورهم الكاتب كأنهم مقاتلون حمقى وبأعداد غفيرة يقتنصهم الإنجليزي بسهولة

وللعلم المعلومات العسكرية قديمة... أما التاريخية فلا تكاد توجد لولا ويكيبيديا وهذا النص عن الموضوع
ثورة 14 أكتوبر هي ثورة حدثت انطلقت في 14 أكتوبر 1963 م في الجزء الجنوبي من اليمن (المناطق الجنوبية من اليمن حالياً) ضد الاستعمار البريطاني ، وانطلقت من جبال ردفان ، وقد شنت السلطات الاستعمارية حملات عسكرية غاشمة استمرت ستة أشهر، ضربت خلالها القرى والسكان الآمنين بمختلف أنواع الأسلحة، تشرد على إثرها آلاف المدنيين العزل. واتّبعت القوات البريطانية في هجماتها وغاراتها على مناطق ردفان سياسة "الأرض المحروقة"، وخلفت كارثة إنسانية فظيعة جعلت أحد أعضاء مجلس العموم البريطاني يدين تلك الأعمال اللا إنسانية

Really enjoyed this book gave me an insight to one of my books soon to be published 'Graced'. Love the togetherness of the troop, how they looked after each other, didn't leave anyone behind. Really felt you knew the characters.
