She lives in Cambridge, England with her husband and cats.
Sue Bentley was born in Northampton, England. She worked in a library after completing her education and began writing for children once her own began school. Bentley is the author of the Magic Kitten, Magic Puppy, and S Club series and lives in Northamptonshire.
Linda Chapman has written over 50 children's fiction books, including the following series: My Secret Unicorn, Stardust, Not Quite a Mermaid, and Unicorn School. She lives in Leicestershire with her husband and daughters.

I got this at a thrift store when I was six, along with an American Girl Josefina mystery, some of the first books of my own. It was great but I'm kind of miffed that there's a fairy for all of my sisters' names but not a single one for me. Smh. smh so aggressively.

I liked the pictures and that's why I chose it for my Mummy to read. The fairy's nice and I like her magic. And I liked the diamonds at the top of the page.

I didn’t even know that this was the third Rainbow Magic series because, for some reason, I was under the impression that the Jewel Fairies was the third series… the point is, this is the one OG series that I’m reading for the first time! (Which is why I wish that I’d read this series in order.)
I think conceptually this is such a solid series! The Party Fairies are in charge of such different things that having their magical items be party bags containing most of their magic is such a great way to show them as more of a cohesive unit. I also like that rather than stealing their party bags, Jack Frost had this whole elaborate plan of luring the fairies by getting his goblins to cause a bunch of chaos in the human world, which would force them to show up to help save the parties and then the goblins can steal their party bags. The girls always have a missing item to find, so for this series to have them protect the fairies and their objects when they inevitably show up was so cool and I don’t think it’s something they’ve attempted to replicate since.
I also think that the goblin character in this book is pretty fucking iconic. This goblin truly had sharp claws and a dream. At first I was like, oh maybe he got his hands on some scissors, but then you see him tear his way out of that tablecloth and you realize he was just causing all this chaos with his bare hands. I think he was able to do significant damage, which is rare for current goblins and they usually come in packs. Him undoing all of Rachel and Kirsty’s hard work and them getting so sick and tired of nonsense was actually very funny.
This book had a lot of funny moments in general.
-“Isn’t it just like Jack Frost to want to ruin everyone’s fun?” // “If he wasn’t always so mean, he could have come to the surprise party for the fairy king and queen’s 1000th anniversary.” - Kirsty and Rachel complaining about how annoying Jack Frost is and Rachel dropping facts as always.
-“Garbage?” Grace said, poking her head out of Kirsty’s pocket. She looked a little flustered and her hair was all messy. “Thanks a lot!” - I adore Grace! She was so sassy and honestly, maybe as big of a nuisance as the goblin was. I love it when the fairies are absolute disasters, so Grace is easily a top 15 fairy for me. (Also, I just wanted to point out that Grace was actually drawn with messy hair in this scene and I really appreciated that little detail.)
-Kirsty shoving Grace into her pocket is so funny because remember when Rachel did the same thing to Saffron the Yellow Fairy? A rare occurrence of them sharing a brain cell. (I mean, every time Grace had to hide was just the funniest thing ever!)
-Horrendous timing by Jaime’s mom that made for great comedy.
-Them tying up the goblin like a mummy was absolutely hilarious to me.
A few other random thoughts I had that aren’t important to anyone but me, therefore they must be included:
-Grace’s design is pretty basic to me, although I do think her wings having sharper edges to mimic her symbol was a nice touch.
-I think it’s so funny that there’s a Jaime and a Charlotte in Wetherbury Village because those are the names of the two most famous charges for the Baby-Sitters Club.
-Now why did I think the King and Queen have been ruling for more than 1,000 years??
-I thought replacing the usual poem at the beginning with an invitation to the anniversary party was a super unique idea. I wish that they’d use this concept more often (when it’s relevant, of course) just to refresh the series every now and then.
-Have Pearl and Buttons ever met?
-I know that the girls suggesting they help out with Jaime’s birthday party might come off as them only doing it to help their fairy friends, which is already a pretty noble reason, but I would argue based on reading Bella the Bunny Fairy last year, that they would’ve helped even if there weren’t any fairies involved.
-Kirsty’s always been so resourceful, I think she’s such a good problem-solver with how quick she was to run home and grab some colourful tape and reassure Jaime that the torn-up streamers were a blessing in disguise because now he can add another colour to his decorations.
-Ah, I forgot that there was this whole explanation in the earlier Rainbow Magic books of how Jack Frost would use his magic to make his goblins look bigger when they’re in the human world. I don’t know why they stopped mentioning it, first of all. And second of all, if that’s the case, then why do they look human-sized whenever the girls visit the Ice Castle?

Jack Frost and the goblins are at it again! In Grace the Glitter Fairy, which is the third book in The Party Fairies miniseries, Rachel and Kirsty helped their neighbors, The Coopers, plan a birthday party. Of course, one of Jack Frost’s goblins tried to ruin it by destroying the party decorations and putting holes in the balloons! The girls knew that they had to stop the goblin otherwise the party would be ruined. With the help of Grace, the three girls set a trap to catch him. Grace set her sparkly pink party bag on the table, knowing to would lure the goblin. It did just the trick! The goblin was easily captured and sent back to Fairyland. The party was saved and Jamie Cooper had a wonderful birthday party.
The Rainbow Magic series is perfect for readers new to the chapter book format. There are illustrations strewn throughout the book which allows for less text on a page and aids comprehension. The chapters are also short yet allow for many events. The variety of plot events helps readers build deeper comprehension, especially when they have to use the information they learned in the beginning of the book to help them predict the end events. The storyline is predictable, especially if the reader has read other books in the series. Being that this series has quite an extensive list of titles, readers will love that there are a multitude of fairy adventures in which to choose.

Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic.
Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies.
On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon!
If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!

Third set in the fairy books. Rachel comes to stay with Kirsty in the village of Wetherbury again for a week. Jack Frost is locked up in his ice castle but determined to throw a bigger and better party than the suprise 1000th Jubilee for the Fairy King and Queen. His goblins are ruining parties all around Wetherbury to try and get their hands on the magical party bags that the Party Fairies have.
Miss 4 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

Ik heb een hele andere cover dan dit boek, maar echt geen zin om een nieuwe editie toe te voegen. Haha. Dit was wel een aardig boekje, helaas voelde het net alsof iemand de boeken in stukjes had geknipt en was dit het derde stukje van een groter boek. Maar ik heb toch genoten van het verhaal en vond het geweldig dat de meiden het niet opgaven en alles deden om het aardmannetje te grijpen en ook nog het feestje te redden. De schrijfstijl was erg fijn en ik vloog door het boek heen.
Het boek heeft ook erg leuke illustraties!
Hopelijk vind ik in minibiebs de rest van de delen zodat ik een wat duidelijker beeld heb van wat er aan de hand is.

This was an unusual book for this series. While the problem is introduced fairly early on, the culprit doesn't show up until much later. There are a few plot threads left hanging for quite a while, and for much of the book, it's unclear if the goblin is actually a goblin and/or if the clown is actually a clown. All of that actually makes the book a bit more interesting, though. The plan to solve things is a bit silly, and even my child didn't see how it could possibly work. Overall, a fun addition to the series that picks things back up after a slower-paced second book.

This is terrrible, but at least the goblins actually do something to cause trouble in this book, unlike most Rainbow Fairy books.

The goblins pranks were actually kind of funny. Like cutting the streamer into pieces and then rolling it back up is kind of a baller prank. Also who hires a clown? I didn’t realize that was a real thing.

It's Kristy's neighbor's birthday party. Jamie is turning five. Rachel and Kristy help with his party. There, they find Grace the Glitter Fairy. They have to help her keep her party bag safe from the goblin who's been causing trouble all the time with the decorations. Grace has to keep her party bag far away from the goblin. Rachel and Kristy help Grace look for the goblin and Grace keeps her party bag safe in her pocket. They set up a trap to get the goblin to Fairy Land. Grace puts her party bag on a table cloth and the goblin comes over to try to grab it. Rachel and Kristy pick up the corners of the table cloth and tie him tight in it. The table cloth was paper so he started tearing it into strips but he didn't escape. Kristy held him and Grace and Rachel take the strips and tie him like a mummy. Grace takes her bag back and sends the goblin and herself to Fairy Land.

This is the third book of seven in the Rainbow Magic Party Fairies series by the group of authors who go by the pseudonym Daisy Meadows. While the stories are basically the same and follow a simple formula, they are entertaining for young girls who are starting to read chapter books and I love that our oldest is just ripping through them. We both read the books separately and talk about what happens. I'm not a huge fan of them, but each story only takes about 5-10 minutes to read. Our oldest is starting to read them very quickly, too, and she can read several of these stories in one day. I can hardly keep up with her!

Kirsty's neighbors, the Coopers are having a birthday party for their son Jamie. She and her best friend Rachel are decorating for his party until it was messed up with popping balloons and cutted streamers. Grace the Glitter Fairy came and the girls needs to save her from avoiding Jamie's guests who are going to see her. Plus, a goblin sneaks inside the house and is holding a magic party bag that belongs to Grace. I love the ending where Grace added some extra sparkle on the decorations and Jamie had the best birthday ever.

(My overall review for the rainbow magic series)
These books were so magical to me as a child. They really got me into reading and I was so addicted. They helped me learn the colours of the rainbow and entertained me for several years. The books aren't very good. I've tried reading them again because I was interested in what I saw in them. The books are very similar and repetitive but to child version of me, they were completely perfect!

I liked this book because it was an adventure. I liked Kirsty and Rachel when they had good ideas for Grace. They had to hide Grace in the house with 10 kids. I didn't like when the goblins were tearing the party apart. Jamie (who the party was for) wouldn't get his birthday if the party was destroyed. I liked that the goblin went back to the castle and failed at ruining the party. I also liked that Grace got her package of fairy dust back.

My 3rd grader liked this book so much she left it on my headboard to read. It was an appropriate read for her, about a birthday party, when she just had her 9th birthday party. I still prefer the "Hayley the Rain Fairy" book in the series. That one was funnier than most. Some of these books are getting repetitive and routine.
