This was an excellent detective novel. Better than any I'd ever read. I had never cared much for the genre until reading Ron Adam's work. I literally could not stop reading this book. I read it in only two settings over the coarse of two evenings. It is that good and captivating! I cannot wait for the next Joe Banks novel.

Ron Adams has taken the world of detective novels to a new level. His new work, "Key Lime Squeeze" is one that few readers will be able to put down. I myself read it in only two settings!
The fast paced story starring P.I. Joe Banks begins in New York but leads our hero to the beautiful Florida Keys in search of a missing insurance adjuster who skips town for a new life with a new flame. However, the wife he left just happens to be the sister of two men who run perhaps the largest organized crime ring in Buffalo. Not only is the families pride injured with his disappearance, but part of their money is gone as well; money the adjuster skimmed while working for the family while helping them defraud the insurance company he worked for.
Joe Banks, who the family often refers to as a "boy scout" since he possesses a quality they lack, character, is hired by the Cantolino brothers to hunt down the missing adjuster and bring him back to their sister, but more importantly, bring their money back to them. They send their hired muscle to keep an eye on Banks, which at first adds an element of suspicion to the saga, but later turns out to be a saving grace for Banks.
I can't give too many details from this point in order to avoid ruining the story line for the reader. I will say though that the twists and turns that Adams writes into the story line are unpredictable, yet make perfect sense and add to the story in such a way that the book is impossible to stop reading once started. In the end, all parties are satisfied, but when the Cantolino's greed for even more than they asked for lead them to betray Banks and their own muscle, the brothers are dealt with by Banks himself.
I commend author Ron Adams for his fine work on this one and I cannot wait for the next Joe Banks novel to follow. I give a five out of five stars rating!

My 2 cents:

I was asked by Ron to read his book for review. I have never read any of his other works and thought this one sounded pretty interesting. I was right. From the moment I started reading the first page I was taken in. Joe Banks is an interesting character that I could like. He is sarcastic, funny, irritating and intriguing. Joe agrees to work for a crime family known as the Cantolino's. Paul and Tony are the Contonlino brother's. One is smart and the other one stupid. They are not too keen on their brother-in-law taking off with some of their money and leaving their precious sister behind. They send Mr Solomon with Joe to track down their brother-in-law. This is where I had some real good laughs and wanted to know what was going to happen next. With all the twists and turns you did not want to put this book down till you were finished. The best part of Joe is his wife. If it wasn't for Paula there is not telling what more trouble he could get into. She keeps him grounded not to mention is lovely secretary Sam. You will not be disappointed in this book. I am going to have to check out the Ron's other books. Joe Banks is one character I would like to read about for a long time to come.
