I love reading books about WWII. This one had a theme of letters running through all four novellas. All four stories were heartwarming and well written. The first novella, Forces of Love really immersed me in the time period, but the fourth novella, Engagement of the heart was my favorite. I hope to find other books by these authors.

This is an excellent book if you enjoy reading about the 40's and when WWII was going on. There are four different stories and they are a good read. Very descriptive about when the War was going on, but not gory! It really makes you think about the veterans and what they went through. The love stories are a good addition, but I liked the writing about that era.

It was ok. i liked the short stories about 4 different families and the effect the World War II was having on them. The different perspectives was good. A light Christmas read with a little warm fuzzies thrown in.

Short, light read- interesting enough and decently written except for the third story which was poorly researched and written from a perspective the author didn't seem to understand. Also noticed a few typos throughout the book.

I think this is one of the better Heartsong books. The plots still centered around struggles in Christian relationships, but the WWII details were very engaging and dramatic. I do think the treatment of depression and PTSD were a little light, overhaul they were handled delicately.
