Jake and Sam share an apartment. Highly intelligent but socially awkward, Jake keeps to his room and concentrates on his studies. Sam is the strong and silent type, very much in awe of the younger man's brain and attracted by his beauty. When Sam's Aussie friend, Zack, arrives to stay for the Christmas holiday break, can he break the stalemate between them?
Unlike many authors, I haven't been writing stories all my life. I've been too busy living life. My travels took me from the fjords of Norway to the southern tip of New Zealand. In between, I've worked in so many different towns I've lost count. I've shoveled cow shit, mustered sheep, been polite to customers, traded insults with politicians and need to be forgiven on occasions when I get confused as to who needs what where. Now that I'm settled in Sydney, Australia, my real-life experiences can morph with my fertile imagination and create fiction which I hope readers will enjoy. My philosophy on posting reviews is to recommend books I like which I think other people may not read and state why I like them. These are only the tip of the iceberg of books I read. If I do post a negative review, it's because there is some craft aspect (usually) that, to me, prevents the book from reaching its full potential. Books I straight out don't like or don't finish, don't even get a mention, as they may be someone else's cup of tea.
2.5 very short story of Jake, a brainiac, and his roommTe Sam, a construcion worker. Sam has a friend from Australia coming over, and jake is supposed to keep him company until Sam gets home. Jake is awkward and sweet, but the idea that you show someone you love them by having someone else have sex with them first, didnt work for me. Sam loves Jake, so gives him to Zack? Zack knows it too, even saying Sam is bigger, so this is just warm up sex.

This quickie belonged to my attempts at light-hearted writing and was not meant to be taken too seriously.
It was prompted from working with a young guy who was attracting attention from males but was totally obvlivious of the fact. I don't think he swung that way, but even if he had, he probably woudn't have realized. Super intelligent though.

I really enjoyed the first book I read by A.B. Gayle so when I ran across The Go Between I wanted to read it, of course I love reading a m/m ménage. I enjoyed the dynamics in this story two roommates both secretly having the hots for each other but both afraid to say something to the other. Enter the best and you have the makings for one hot evening and A.B. Gayle delivered on that even in a short 22 pages I felt the emotional awkwardness of the situation and that made the story all the more enjoyable.
I have to say that as a rule I prefer my m/m/m stories to have a triple happily ever but in this case Zack is exactly what the title says The Go Between – a Christmas Cupid. But, it worked for me. The author didn’t try to sell me a romantic future that wouldn’t fly. I was sorry the story was so short only because I would have liked to see more of Jake and Sam as a couple, but for a quick short holiday read I was not disappointed.
Well. it was short. Very very short. I love the idea of a hook up that has been an aching need on both individual's mind. And the promise of a threesome is hot, hot hot... I'm a total geek, most of the time, so I enjoy seeing someone finally get a sexy counterpart worthy of some bow-chica- bow- wow. This novella was far shorter than I expected... so much so that i don't even remember the three characters' names... All that I do remember is that it took the geeky boy a bit too long to finally make his way over to the bedroom with the roomate and the visiting Aussi. (Can we say sexy accent. looooove it...
Anyway, I wanted a little more drawing out. Maybe a few more pages, but it was still a fun read. Go Go Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
