One Special Christmas was a great story of letting go of the past and finding new love. I enjoyed this book. Home for the Holidays was honestly a disappointment. I felt the author pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable, and the relationship between the two main characters by the end of the book still seemed to be lacking something. Thankfully this was not my first book by this author because I love her more recent books.

Two romances written early in Irene Hannon's career, repackaged for the Christmas season.

"One Special Christmas" begins with the prologue of Dr. Eric Carlson stopping to rescue a man trapped in a car which has slid off an ice covered roadway. The man's pregnant wife pleads with Eric to save him. Fast forward five years later....Eric's demanding wife Cindy has left him and his newest patient is a five year old girl who has never met her dad because he died of traumatic injuries sustained in a car accident.
Yes, Sarah is the daughter of the man whom Eric worked to rescue five years earlier. And her widowed mom, Kate, has determined she will never have another relationship after the broken heart she has suffered. Of course, Dr. Eric has had his heart broken as well, with Cindy's departure, and he has also determined that he will never fall in love again. However, young Sarah has other ideas.....

"Home for the Holidays" introduces spunky landscaper Laura Taylor and urbane professional Nick Sinclair. With both of them trying to get a foothold in their respective career markets, Nick hires Laura's firm, Taylor Landscaping, in order to give the company a chance for a lucrative contract by landscaping his newly designed Fine Arts building - unaware that Taylor is actually a woman! Through their often rocky relationship, Nick comes to reevaluate his priorities in life and Laura works to overcome the abuse inflicted upon her by her now-dead husband. The "home for the holidays" is a beautiful old home in an established neighborhood which both have fallen in love with....but will they spend their lives in it as a married couple?

Two heartwarming stories that will brighten your Christmas!

I love stories set during the Christmas season and this one did not disappoint. Both Kate and Eric had their own reasons for living in the past. But each of them had reasons to move forward. With a little help from family and friends and a lot of faith they were able to find a future together.

Nick and Laura also had their share of problems but the holiday season works its magic again.

Classic romance without overwhelming sex scenes to diminish it. Great read.

Love Stories to Warm the Heart

Two very different love stories but very much alike in many ways. There was hurt from losing mates from death and Divorce in one story and then from losing a mate from abuse and then death. Read these two stories to see how God helped them with death, falling in love again, starting new lives and finding He is always near.

There are two novels in this book. Both are fairly interesting, but they just didn't have any piszzaz for me. I have read other novels by Ms. Hnnon that have been decidedly better.
