Franklyn Sills (b. 1947) is the author of Craniosacral Biodynamics and Polarity Process, and is founder of Karuna Institute in Devon England.

With a background in Polarity Therapy and Buddhist studies, Sills attended osteopathic college in England in 1981-1984. In college he learned of the work of W.G. Sutherland, DO, and his colleagues, and recognized many contributions of this osteopathic heritage that supported and deepened his perspective on energy therapy and esoteric experience.

Sills developed a Craniosacral Therapy curriculum oriented to esoteric principles in the late 1980s, and refined the concept through clinical experience and teaching throughout the 1990s. Craniosacral Biodynamics was first published (in two volumes) in 2001 as a summary of his findings at that point.

Sills presents his approach in seminars in Europe and North America. Information about these events can be found at the web sites of IABT schools.

I read this to understand the polarity view of the body and see if it could fit within my developing view based on current anatomy & physiology (Hedley dissections, interstitium, Polyvagal Theory, Fascial Trains (Myers), & classical acupressure.

Sills book is an excellent preparatory text for Stone's textbooks. I am seeing the limitations of Stone's contribution. It has not aged well over the 3 decades.

Although it is claimed that Stone uses Chinese 5 Element theory and the Auryvedic system, it is the later he uses to parse the body that many times negates 5 Element theory.

Polarity therapy does cross meridian work, which is a vital view of the body, but I do not see a connection w Myers' Spiral Line.

I have concluded for my practice I will have to employ a looser frame as I read volumes 1&2 of Stone's work, in order to findthe durable gems.

A gem. Franklyn Sills heroically gives lucidity to the brilliant but "streams of consciousness" style of the "father of energy medicine" The broadness of Dr Stone's work means this is a good 1 vol reference for all healers. There is much here about reading clients - and ourselves! (ah, that's me!). The moving examples of powerful and therapeutic emotional release suggest scope for treating survivors of sexual abuse and other traumas too. 4 stars? ..Hello?

So far, I think it is pretty good. From the first couple of chapters the book discussed the anatomy of the human energy system, its implication in the qualities of energies, and the relationship between etherical energies and the human form.

Found at a used book store. Truly fringe. Looks like great fun!

An excellent overview of Dr. Stone's work. Not a ton of technique here, but a lot of explanation of the theory behind it; more of a "how come" book than a "how to" book.
