When my son was little, he and I watched SpongeBob SquarePants on Nickelodeon. My favorite episodes were the ones that dealt with the adventures of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
My grandchildren know the lyrics to the song The Fool Who Ripped His Pants.

I bought this book online thinking it was a graphic novel since artist Francesco Francavilla is listed in the credits. However, it is a prose novel with Francavilla drawing the chapter headings.

I read the book to see if it would be appropriate for my granddaughter, who is starting to read chapter books. The plot is similar to season three of Only Murders In The Building, except no one is murdered.

SpongeBob and Sandy solve the mystery of who is trying to shut down the production of a play in a dilapidated theater and why.

I enjoyed it, and if my granddaughter does as well, I'll get her the previous two books in the series.

A fun little read to pass the time on snowy days. So far, the three SpongeBob SquarePants Mysteries books have been pretty good. Can tell the author is familiar with the source material, so he puts effort into them instead of just trying to make a quick buck.

SpongeBob SquarePants dons his old trench coat and fedora once again, and teams up with Sandy the squirrel to solve the mystery of who is behind trying to prevent Mr. Martin Dorado from putting on a stage play at the Drippy Lane Theater.
