The highly specialized Hawkeye team protects the world's most valuable things, secrets, even people. But now one of their own needs protecting. There's a cool million dollar bounty on Dom Wolf Stone's head. Trouble is, Stone's a loner and doesn't want the help.
That doesn't stop his submissive and former lover, Nate Davidson, or another determined agent, Kayla Fagan, from showing up at his Colorado ranch, uninvited. The spark, the anger, the hurt is still there between Wolf and Nate, and their first kiss reignites the flames that time and distance have not diminished. With Nate's help, Wolf uncovers Kayla's unexplored submissive tendencies. Under the Dom's unyielding instruction, Kayla explores her sexuality in ways that make her dizzy.
For Wolf, there's nothing better than having two very different, very willing, very pleasing subs at his command. But Kayla and Nate both want more. In addition to his love, they want him to give up control long enough to share his life completely. And that's the one thing Wolf is incapable of giving.

This is another story that’s been in my library for a while and in this case,i’m glad i finally read it. Short, but hot, with a slow building of the background of Wolf,Nate and Kayla. Showing bit by agonizing bit what happened in the past to make it hard to commit. With a smudge of danger in Wolf’s life, bringing first Kayla and next Nate to his house to protect him. Which he doesn’t want, but very clearly needs…. The intimacy between Wolf and Nate is palpable, but Wolf is afraid to commit fully. Adding Kayla to the mix, pushes them to try for more, but even though Wolf clearly loves dominating them,he still can’t admit he needs them….until their task is completed, and he returns to an empty house.
Again,it was short, but hot. And it focussed on the dynamic mostly, not on the suspense. But i enjoyed it….very much!
Meh. I felt like I read half of a book. I actually checked to make sure that I hadn't started in the middle of a series or something. Just way too little background information given on Wolf, Kayla and Nate. The way that they all called each other by their last names, even in intimate situations, seemed rather impersonal. The menage scenes were not very detailed and seemed very impersonal. The characters just didn't seem to know each other very well (even Wolf and Nate who had been D/s for three years) and all the torture that Wolf pulled on Nate with his testicles just to me didn't do it. Meh. The whole external subplot with the trial wasn't very well put-together, it didn't make a lot of sense, and even though this book is 192 pages, it felt a lot shorter, more like 110 pages or so.
I typically only care to read about very light BDSM activity but if done right and it's a good story I indulge further. This however I got to 18% and knew it was all wrong for me.
We have 3 people up on a mountain staying in a remote Cabin for reasons that sounded serious and seemed to have good storyline potential. But the second they all get inside the secluded cabin the storyline goes directly to sex and the dangerous jobs they're on the mountain carry out no longer matters.
Immediately after entering the cabin the two MMCs who have just been reunited, one Dominate and the other Submissive, are having sex in the bathroom. That's fine but a woman is staying at the cabin also, and she's just hanging out in the kitchen listening to them going at it. Once the two MMCs complete their trist in the water closet the Dominate tells the Submissive male to undress and go down on the woman. The submissive male has just met this woman and the Dominate never asks him if he's okay with that. No conversation went into how everyone felt about having a "Scene" in the kitchen after just being introduced. The Dominate has known the woman for a few weeks now but in a professional capacity and while she does say she wants to "play" the Dominate doesn't take any time to explain rules or ask the submissive male how he feels about pulling this woman into their "playtime".
The whole scene felt wrong and forced. This was not for me.
Some hot D/s in this MMF and a strong suspense story to carry it, but Cartwright's Dom's always seem to just miss the line to making them human. They feel cold. Wolf and Nate's story was years in the making, but Kayla just seemed too fast an addition to the emotional grouping. I get her as a physical third, but not invested emotionally.
Nate, Wolf, and Kayla's story is off the charts hot!!! Can Nate and Kayla convince Wolf to take a chance on them or will he stubbornly refuse to listen to his heart and turn away from them. Grab the ice water and fan you're going to need them. Loved it!
Smexy...Yawn...oh wait plot...smexy....argument...ease dropping....fell asleep...picked up where I stopped I think...thats one way to protect him...plot yeah oh no the book is over
2.5 stars. I picked this up because of her shorts in the Doms of Dark Haven books with Cherise Sinclair. I didn't like this as much. First of all, there was an ongoing relationship between the two men that made me feel like I missed the book before this (though this was the first in a series). Secondly, while I enjoy books with a m/m/f theme, this story has taught me that I don't enjoy the parts that are m/m. With all three of them together, it was hot, but I never got to feel like I got to know the characters to root for them. I felt like I walked into the middle of their story. Had I seen the interaction of even Kayla and Stone in the house before Nate got there, I may have connected to the characters better, but I just didn't.
The emotions just poured through me with this book. You can feel the stubbornness of Wolf and the anger of Nate as the two see each other again. Wolf is in danger and Nate is going to protect him, no matter what. Add Kayla to the mix and you see the eagerness of her to learn about dominance and submission, even though she is still feisty and wants to be in control. With a price on Wolf's head, the stress levels are high and time is of the essence to find out who is trying to kill him. Will Kayla want to stay with the guys? Will Wolf want to keep both of his subs when it's over? All I will say is if you love MMF and romantic suspense, then you need to get this book!
I have no idea why I even finished this - it was so cringey. The 'Dom' was just a surly arsehole and the FMC who was supposed to be this hot sh*t agent was like a scared, petulant child at times. The other MMC was fine.
Not the best menage primarily because of the writing and inappropriate usage of anatomically correct names for things 😂
I'm a huge fan of the Hawkeye world and Ms. Cartwright! Awesome world-building. Memorable characters. Emotional plots. Action to get the heart racing. And sexy-as-sin BDSM. Gimme more!
I like the polygamous part and i love the narator (thats why i picked this cus its narrated by Aiden snow and on audible for free till 19th of may)
I wanted to love this so much but i didn't some of the talk in the scenes made me literally cringe.. (never had that before !) Its very very tropy and I feel that a vanilla who only had bad sexual experiences with her death husband and who wants an introduction. From a near starnger and coworker that are highly dangerous big grumpy aloof men ( and hung like a horse !) That it should develop way slower ..there so much room to explore and make many slow scenes to write that story well.to explainthings..now after 1 or 2 plays she acts as if she knows that world inside out.
it was rushed most not explained well enough or not explained at all..and even dangerous in some instances..
not enough story to make the caracters as bad-ass or high profile to fear or respect..not enough back story and they mention back to previous missions we haven't read about. So rushed light on story and characters and even the sex was meh or cringe..there where only a few parts that made me suspense my believe and immersed me in the story and they where short moments..will give book 2 a try but if its feels the same I'll drop it.
WOW!! Sierra was not playing around when she wrote this one. The chemistry in this is OFF THE CHARTS HOT.
If you were ever trying to find the definition of ALPHA male then you need to stop at Wolf Stone. He demands to be in charge and is a dominant in the full definition. He is used to being at the forefront of risky situation, however, the situation he is in now puts him in grave danger. Can wolf keep his privacy and stay safe?
As Wolf tries to keep himself hidden he finds Kayla and Nate invading his privacy. What happens next will blow your mind. As Kayla is brought into the world of BDSM she finds her walls of control also crumbling. The chemistry is sizzling. You will not know what to think and will not be able to put your book down. WOW!!! Kayla brings out something in Wolf that he is not used to. Can he work through all of his emotions he is feeling for the greater good? Can he see both sides and do what is best for him in the end?
Be ready for a truly intense story that will have you on the edge of your seat! This is a story of love, finding oneself, and becoming one. I am ready for more.
Book one in Hawkeye series by Sierra Cartwright I really enjoyed the very hot BDSM moments but I disliked that they called each other by there second names like they didn’t know each other well. I did feel the start could be worded better it got a bit confusing who was who and what was going on. The book develops well once you figure of who’s who and why the protecting a very ungrateful Wolf. I love that Kayla holds her own in a fight even though she comes across as the softer one in group. Heavy on Dom Sub BDSM culture so if not your cup of tea I wouldn’t read it.
I loved this book and these characters. This book was a fun ride filled with action, suspense and sexy fun times. These characters felt so real to me. I could feel their chemistry, their frustration, their uncertainty and their love. Well written story and well developed characters. So other than a little confusion in the beginning with just trying to follow who was who, since they refer to each other by last name a lot, it was an awesome story.
This MMF story was short and it could have used more background about each character. It took awhile to understand why Wolf was so aloof in his treatment of Nate and Kayla falling in love with Wolf seemed a bit rushed. Otherwise I enjoyed the story and the BDSM was entertaining.
I started reading with high hopes since many had recommended this author based on me liking Lexi Blake so much. After finishing this first in the series, my reaction was "meh." She's an okay writer, not spectacular, but I could forgive that with good characters, scenes and plot. Unfortunately, all three are mediocre at best. She gives no good sense of the characters before rushing them into their first sex scene and, unfortunately, the her sex scenes left a lot to be desired as do her depictions of BDSM. Had she taken some time, she could have made something of these. I cringed when she took a novice sub through a scene no Dominant worth his salt would stage for a newbie. I literally facepalmed when she had the Dom deny and then command an orgasm, something that takes time and trust between a Dom and sub, not on a first "let's see what we know" scene. Sadly, I'm on the second book and I see this is something she carries on with all new subs. A shame. I would have liked another author who can write both D/s scenes and action.
I came back to edit after reading other reviews which reminded me of things I wanted to say. Stone himself came across as cold. At no time did I feel any heat in any of the scenes or conversations. Oh, it was written as if there was some, but, there was nothing, even in the ending. As well, his relationship with Nate was, pardon the pun, half-cocked and it felt like we started on a sequel with this book, like there should have been another book or even novella about them first.
Finally, Stone starts the scene with Fagen having Nate perform oral and Nate admits it's been a while, leaving the implication that he's more into men. Yet the rest of the book has Fagen and Nate having more action than Stone and Fagen. She comes as an afterthought to Nate and Stone though, not a viable third to their menage.
I enjoyed this book. Wolf has been injured by a man who is now on trial for murder which Wolf witnessed. He, Kayla & Nate all work for the same security company, Hawkeye. Kayla & Nate are with Wolf to protect him before he testifies at the trial. I really liked this throuple. They worked well together and Wolf was great as their dominant. I hope to see them further in this series.
Wolf Stone is an Alpha of the highest degree. He is dominant and demands to be in charge at all times in every situation. He works for Hawkeye Security and there is always risk involved. He takes refuge at his isolated home in the mountains as his life is in danger. He is to testify against a drug lord and if found, they will shoot to kill. Wolf likes his privacy and has put up barriers not only around his property, but also his heart. That is tested when Nate and Kayla invade his sanctum. Nate and Wolf have history and Kayla is there to "protect" Wolf from the threat that looms over his head.
The three of them discover their sexual chemistry cannot be denied. The erotic BDSM scenes in this book are so hot, I found myself having to remember to breathe. Kayla challenges Wolf's emotional side, trying to open up his solid steel box of feelings. I felt so sorry for Nate as he has unrequited love for Wolf. Wolf is in denial and shoots Nate's feeling down constantly. I loved the balance of the three of them together both physically and emotionally. To see Wolf work through how he really felt for Kayla and Nate was both difficult and a joy to read. This book definitely knocked my socks off.
This was a kick! I love a good menage and I really love the D/s/s dynamic in this book. The twist at the end was quite good as well. Yay! A new author to follow!
Somewhere between a 3 and a 4 but the MMF pushed it up to the 4. Short read with some suspense that gets resolved quickly - hey it's short - but the BDSM and the menage are nice and steamy.
The first book of the series, this is only the second book I've read by this author. Note this appears to be a revamp of the formerly published Danger Zone. Also note that there was a lot of discussion about Hawkeye Security and previous events related to it; so much so that I had to check and double-check that this was actually book 1, as it felt from the start like I was coming in mid-series.
I typically like mmf stories as it's usually the relationships that interest me, and there are three different relationships to consider here, plus how the lovers work as a unit. There's certainly plenty of chemistry amongst the three, and I liked how Nate and Kayla were both willing to call Stone out when it counted, in spite of Stone's dominance.
I'd agree with other reviewers that the constant use of last names was a little off-putting for me as it Indicated an emotional distance or lack of connection when it seems to me a D/s relationship is all about the connection (I'm not in the lifestyle so take that for what it's worth). But...when Stone does use their first names, it shows how emotionally invested he truly is and how far he's come.
While I enjoyed the suspense, some of the events weren't very well-explained. Also, I was more than a little frustrated because I felt I was missing out on some background between Nate and Kayla, and Nate and Stone--like they were in a previous series that I'm still unaware of. For example, though both Nate and Kayla think about the fact that they're "falling" for Wolfe, I didn't really feel like I saw those relationships develop.
Intriguing characters with plenty of heat, plus some of the suspense elements I love, there was tremendous potential but ultimately I would have preferred more story to go along with all that heat. 3.5 stars
I received a free review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Rene’s Thoughts:
☞ The reader, like Kayla the heroine, comes into the story not knowing that Wolf and Nate have a history. It definitely takes you by surprise in the moment. At first I was as confused as she was and wanted to know more; but then quickly realized that it was important to the love story between the three that we focus on the group’s dynamic. On the three of them falling in love.
☞ Is it just me or is watching/reading about two men enjoying each other wicked hot? Add their obvious and adorable affection for one other and you need a cold drink, shower or both!
☞ Kayla was the perfect heroine, she was tough as nails but also had a sweet gentle side. I also admired her determination to try new things and live without any regrets. She knew that if she didn't experience what it could be like submitting to Wolf, she would always regret it!
☞ The chemistry and sex scenes between the three were not only hot in the moment but blazed with the promise of many more scenes between the group. They all got what they needed from the dynamic, both physically and eventually emotionallyl.
☞ One thing I love about this novel, is that although Kayla and Nate are both submissive they aren’t weak or unwilling to stand up to or for Wolf. Just because they were subs, doesn’t mean they weren’t bad-ass and able to protect their Dom, even when he doesn’t want their protection!
☞ I smiled and giggled my way through the epilogue, it was exactly the happily-ever-after my heart needed and wanted! Thank you Sierra! ❤️
Oh my I wasn't sure I would like this book when i read the description but I absolutely loved the dynamic that Sierra writes for Wolf and Nate and then adding in Kayla doesn't even diminish it in the least. Its so wonderfully well written I just couldn't put it down until I was done.
Wolf is a strong powerful warrior that got injured and needs protection until he testifies against a vicious murderer. Of course he thinks he can handle his own protection and that he doesn't need any help from anyone. Once Kayla and Nate tag team him hes done for there is no way to resist both of them yes one is easy but both hes just powerless against them.
Kayla oh man she is posing to be a physical therapist that is helping him get better but really she is part of his protection detail. Being in the house with him and then Nate is torture. She has always been a good girl never done anything bad or wrong but these two men break every ideal of good and bad.
Nate oh man I just love him hes strong yet vulnerable, loves Wolf to a fault even if it hurts him more than helps him. Hes caring and loving and obedient to Wolf. Somehow him and Kayla form this bond during Wolf treating them like crap and they hold each-other up.
I just love the dynamics in this book I cannot wait to read more from the hawkeye series. This author doesn't disappoint.
When the story opens we find Wolf taking refuge in his mountain home, shutting out the world, healing from a injury and waiting to testify against the drug lords that nearly cost him his life. He is truly a loaner, just like his namesake, and protects his heart like he protects his domain. Nothing gets in or out. Enter Kayla, a strong-willed firecracker who barges in and shakes the foundations of the walls Wolf has constructed around his heart with her honesty and trust. Finally meet Nate, a man with who Wolf has a history, who refuses to let Wolf push him aside. Nate knows what he wants and will do anything in his power to get it. The chemistry between these characters is off the charts. Wolf and Nate guide Kayla into the world of BDSM. The further she goes along her journey, the more Wolf loses his heart to both of them. This is a story about love, and self-discovery, about forming a family, becoming a pack. Sierra does it again, giving us a romantic suspenseful read. While I would have liked a prologue to give just a little more history into what was going on with Wolf, how he got injured and maybe a little of the history with Nate, I still highly recommend this read. Just like most of her works, it sucks you in until you can't put it down.
The story of Stone, Davidson and Keigan was a decent get away for a few hours, except towards the end of the culmination at the trial when Stone antagonized the accused.....wouldn't have happened in any court of law. That was an eye roll moment more so than one of satisfaction for me. The story itself was good of the relationship between the people. Davidson and Stone being lovers previously and when Keigan sees the affection between the two men, she assumed that they were gay and though she had a crush on both of them, she would have been content to watch until Stone invited her to join in their BDSM play. Wolf is the Dom to Davidson and Keigan's submission. Wolf is a Dom that is hard and gives no quarter (a phrase that was used repeatedly in the story *smirk*) and Keigan is hesitant but experiments in giving Wolf that power over her. Davidson is a former lover that hasn't gotten over his Dom and his Dom over him and when he pushes to be on his personal detail in the home of Wolf, fires are ignited and reignited between a new bond of all three people. I liked the development of the relationship and that was all that was really needed of the story, as there was enough to dissect through all the emotional turmoil that was wrought on all three people.
