This isn't a regular old book. Craig demonstrates a unique expertise that is, frankly, beyond my ability to fully absorb. This is an amazing resource for anyone pursuing a career in sound production and design - even if it is rapidly becoming outdated. It is dense with information. But more than that, learning about how technology progressed from stage to stage was fascinating.

This book was recommended to me by a guy who'd worked on R.E.M. and Uncle Tupelo records as a comprehensive "how-to" style book on home recording. I figured he knew what he was talking about, so I purchased it and found it to be incredibly useful and informative.

If you have a large learning curve, this is a great book to read. But since it was written in 1978 a lot has happened since then :-)
