Not super memorable - no real story or anything that really makes it stand out - but still a solid one that introduces different environments on the Earth in a simple format for younger readers to understand. I can definitely see pulling it out for a STEM storytime on any of these environments, or a program on geography or for Earth Day.
"Our Earth" is a wonderful book about the planet we live on! It describes the different areas of Earth and shows how it looks. The book introduces Earth science concepts to young children. The illustrations are very good because it intrigues the reader. Lexile-580L Grade-K-2
This is the story of our earth and the different aspects of it. The book covers islands, glaciers and even bats living in caves. Very kid friendly but educational!
This book is great to introduce the exploration of earth-science concepts in a simple format. These illustrations enhance the objectives that can be taught in correlation with this text.
In my first grade classroom, my students learn about the places they live (solar system, planet, country, state, city, and home). When they learn about our planet, some of my small reading groups read this book which gives a great introduction to earth-science concepts. Except for the grasslands, it shows all the major habitats found on Earth. See my other books on Earth on my science shelf.
This book describes all the major components of the earth, such as mountain, water, islands, animals, etc. The end has a kid that says this is his earth and where he lives. This book would be perfect to introduce kids to all the major features of the earth.
This book could be used to introduce the history of the earth, and what kind of formations it has. This could be used to introduce Earth day. The pictures are very bland and not as colorful as the front cover suggests. Students would be able to gain concepts about the earth from this book though.
This book teaches children about the different parts of Earth and different regions and how they were formed. Would be a great introductory book on the different regions, geographical history, our environment, or on Earth Day.
This is an informational book written for beginning readers all about the Earth. It talks about ocean, forests, the north pole, streams, islands, and more.
Giving just enough information, this book is a perfect read aloud for toddlers and preschools. Very nice and simple illustrations but with an important message to take care of our earth.
