Women's fashion entrepreneur, Keli Michaels,' mundane life is about turn topsy turvy. It all starts when her business partner and best friend, Tya, arranges a blind date with her cousin, but fails to tell Keli about it until two hours before their dinner reservations. Despite Keli's well founded annoyance, Ty convinces her to at least go out with him.
A good premise and good characters and then it all just turned into nothing but sex. Look I need a little romance not just pages and pages of sex. Can the characters get to know one another, can we get to know the characters? Three days and a marriage proposal, come on!!!
This is the first book I read by Dee Dawning. I thought it was a simple romance story I was surprised by the hot & steamy scenes. I loved how the characters met & I enjoyed how her boyfriend got captured the stalker. I would read more books by this author.
Blind Date is a “blindingly” fast moving short contemporary romance. In a few pages, two people meet, have a blind date, fall in love, move in together, discover a stalker, do an investigation with the police, catch the stalker, have a picnic, get engaged, and have a lot of sex in between.
The heroine, Keli, is set up by her best friend to go on a date with the best friend’s cousin, a Caucasian guy, Trevor. Sparks fly on the first date. Trevor is the perfect man. There are absolutely no flaws in this guy. He has blond hair, blue eyes, is a gentleman, has a great job, can cook and wants to marry her pretty much on the spot. I would have liked to have seen some flaws in Trevor and watch him grow. It would have given him more depth.
Keli, other the hand seemed a little clueless. She constantly leaves her window open even when she knows there’s a pervert/peeping Tom looking and taking pictures. She never calls the police, but just acts disgusted. She wasn’t a very clever heroine. I was glad that a smart guy like Trevor wanted to marry her.
Basically, the two never really had any obstacles to their love except the initial “I’ve never dated a white guy”. However, the banter between Keli and her best friend was well written and hilarious. After the initial date, the story just moved too fast, and a lot of things happened with the stalker.
Overall it was an average read and emotionally satisfying with the two getting engaged in the end.

It all starts when her business partner and best friend, Tya, arranges a blind date with her cousin, but fails to tell Keli about it until two hours before their dinner reservations. Despite Keli's well founded annoyance, Ty convinces her to at least go out with him. But when he arrives, Keli discovers something else her duplicitous friend failed to tell her. She is shocked to find out Ty's favorite cousin, Phillip (Trevor) Gordon, has long blond hair, beautiful baby blues and is cuter than hell. Having never considered interracial dating, Keli, reluctantly accompanies Ty's handsome cousin, out on the town in a limo, and enjoys the most wonderful date of her life. With the stars aligned, inevitably drawing this unlikely pair together, passion ignites and burns hot. But will it evolve into true love or burn out and fade away?
The story itself wasn't too bad - although the 'intrigue' part was weak and the way the couple fell ridiculously fast for each other didn't convince me - but I had to lower the rating even further because of the sex scenes. They were so absurd (in a bad way), they made me laugh out loud and soon I started skipping them. Others may like this author's style, but I was glad it was a free read.
This is a fast paced romance that goes from stranger to engaged in less than a week. The stalker seemed to be sort of a strange addition. If it had been further developed it could have been an interesting plot addition but it was sort of just a random addition that felt sort of strange.

Great quick read but it took me longer because I got interrupted by the other book I was reading. Glad I finished Trevor and Keli's story! It moved really quick and I was a little surprised by that but love just has to be what it is and you have to just hold on and read along.
Good book. It's not very long so it moves fast in some places where more detail is needed. Because of that some things seem to happen to quickly to be real. But it was good reading
