Tempest Burnell was content with her life in the Southwestern desert until the day she came face to face with her past. Time had been wonderful to him, a tall Native American, blessing him with jet black hair, obsidian eyes, and bronzed skin covering a body packed in muscles. James “Maverick” Lonetree heads to New Mexico because of a vision. When he lays eyes upon a sexy bartender, new life pours into him. He longs to know more about the dark-skinned, curvaceous woman and yet she seems to hate him.
When the past comes out, Maverick is faced with a hurdle more crucial than anything he’s ever faced in his thirty-six, even recent years as a SEAL. He is however, determined to break through the wall erected around Tempest’s heart and earn forgiveness for past transgressions. Combine her mistrust, with interfering families, and the fact he calls the other side of the country home, he knows it won’t be easy.
SEALs are known for many things, giving up…isn’t one of them. Maverick vows to make Tempest understand she’s not just his salvation, she is…

Wow, what a great ending to the series of the Megalodon team! Of all of the seal team members, Maverick and Tempest are the best matched. This is a great story and is my second favorite in the series. My favorite story, Kincade's Rose, beats this one out because of the action/adventure and the story's fantastic heroine, Jayde.
I hope Aliyah does a follow-up to the series...maybe a story on the family lives of the team membes after their stint in the teams?...
Best book of the series by far. The playboy of the group always goes down the hardest. I loved how the switch just flipped when Maverick saw Tempest. It was like his soul was at peace. These two had some tumultuous relationship especially with Dakota in the mix. At the height of the drama I did find myself cringing at times at the hatred being hurtled towered Tempest, I really don't know how she managed to handle it all. The loves scenes were off the charts, they'll definitely have you squirming in your seats. I'm mad I discovered this series so late and am sad to see it end, but what an awesome ride it was.
This was my favorite book in the series Maverick story was almost too much the pain of Tempest Burnell was so touching it made me cry.I was so glad she had Maverick to make it better. He is a man I would want to make it better too.He was sexy and sweeet!I loved the fact that the last one in the series had the best story.
100% worth the read! Tempest and James were hot with the steam coming off the pages! I know I am reading out of order but the anticipation was killing me! This read made me buy the rest of the Team's story. Great story and I do not regret one page!
I really enjoyed this book and series, hate to see it end. I was hoping for a few more on the feriend and sister of the team. In all Miss Aliyah Burke did a amazing job.
Maverick knew he had to be patience and wait on his mitawin, his wife. His grandfather was right Tempest was definitely worth the hard work and patience. In the end, he wore her down and they all became a family. His vision came true.
I enjoyed reading this story and the entire Megalodon Team series. Each character was relatable and likeable. James Chayton Lonetree aka Maverick was such a likeable alpha male. His relationship with the rest of the team is admirable. They are truly brothers, each other's chosen family and that includes their wives who embraced Tempest into their group wholeheartedly.
I can understand Tempest's raging anger on her situation which was horrible for a 13 year old to live through. Despite this, she raised a well mannered, intelligent and loving young man. Dakota Falcon Burnell was the best thing that happened to Tempest and she would never reject him like her parents had. Speaking of her parents, at least her father had some regrets and asked for forgiveness, but her mother and Maverick's parents were absolutely horrid. I can not imagine doing my child they way they did.
This storyline and plot was by far the best in the series.
Chayton is a ladies man and a man’s man. He is everything! Poor Sarah/Temptess didn’t have a change in hell. However, she put him through the ringer for his past transgressions and some. Loved it! I’m so used to reading novels where the leading lady forgives the man so easily, but not Temptess. Everyone that should’ve loved and protected her failed her terribly. I loved her strength and vulnerability. I loved how Chayton went through the motions to prove, win and claim what was rightfully taken (hidden) from him. The story may be a little whimsical regarding Native American beliefs/superstitions for some. It worked for me. Highly recommend!
This story has a lot of ups and down and angst. What horrid sets of parents, though her father redeemed himself by owning up to his mistake. Her mother was a piece of work. His father is something else - a bully as well as a child molester seeing that Tallie was younger than Tempest. and could be old enough to be her grandfather . I can't say felt bad for the mother when it was revealed her husband was the one who had impregnated Tallie. Once again the Megalodon men and their wives won the day. The Megalodon series is in the top 10 of my favourite series.
I have to say, my interest in the series was waning. It was a really good series, but it was also getting repetitive. I couldn't not finish it, however, and I'm so glad I did. Other than the first two, this was my favorite. And in fact, in terms of the depth of the characters, it probably is the best. The anger and distrust Tempest feels is genuine and well deserved, but in some ways misplaced as well. And Maverick (you knew from book 1 he would be the last to SEAL to find his love) is probably the most in depth of all the men in the series. I've complained a little bit in a few of the reviews of the other books (and a lot just to myself) how annoying it was getting to have the heroine doubt the relationship and the love of the hero until the very end. But in this case, there was a real reason that made sense and therefor made the point where she did accept him all the more sweet. Certainly the most emotional book of the series, don't quit the series without having read this final installment.
The last single man standing of the Megalodon team, Maverick, meets his match. I liked the fight of this story that seemed to make it more realistic. Though, the story does not go in depth about Maverick's heritage, there are elements woven into the story that gives a hint of the influence that his Native American heritage has on him. I liked most everything about him in this story. There were a couple of times I thought he was creepy.
Tempest gave balance to the story. I liked her fight. I could definitely see her choices happening in reality. I enjoyed her strength and fight, despite the hand she was dealt.
The parents were appalling. They disgusted me and made me want to scream at times. I guess that is what antagonists are meant to do.
There is adult language and adult situations that could be an emotional ride for those who have experienced things similar to the heroine.
All I can say is the heroine was a complete pain in the rump!! She cried and whined through most of this book in between yelling and jumping Mavericks bones! I have read most if this series and this is the only book I just could not find any affection for and believe me I tried. The author should have written in a therapist and a script for prozac somewhere around the mid point of this book and perhaps I would not have had visions of taking a bat to Tempest's head!
DNF Started reading then stopped a few minutes later In my opinion 13 year olds should not be having sex, i loved every single book from the rest of the series and i think if the ages of both main character were different i would had finished the book, but their ages just threw me off
