And with this book, this series is fully reviewed! When I was a young teen/pre-teen, I really enjoyed all the “Teen Drama and Angst” in this series, but now that I’m older, it’s not really my cup of tea. Still a dramatic and fun-ish read, though, and I’m glad another Melody Carlson series is reviewed on BFCG! :)

This was a really good book! I enjoyed a lot, I read it in a week and a half! I couldn't put it down. This is the last book in the 'On the Runway' series, so I'm going to go back and read the other 5! This book is a young adult novel for middle to high school girls. It's really good! i would definitely reccommend to people

Paige and Erin are about to take a much needed break, which after all the drama in the Bahamas they desperately need. First they make a quick stop in New York, then after their break they set off for Milan fashion week. Paige discovers a truth about Dylan, but Erin finds there might be something to the rumours about him. In Milan the sisters and their mom face a challenging schedule, topped with the drama only romance can bring. With Blake filming a blind date reality show, Erin starts to feel something, but seeing Gabin again makes her question those feelings. Can Erin find the real in reality tv?
This was the final book in the series, but I didn't like how it ended. It felt like one of those tv series that the network decides to cancel at the last minute but leaves you with so many questions. They had even started making plans for their next trip and then it just ends. I suppose there is probably a very good reason for this ending, I just wish it tied up all the loose ends.

Once again this series is amazing and just so comforting. It was really sad to see this series end and know I will not be in that world anymore. I love the characters, the settings of different fashion-centric places, the fashion stuff, the connection between the characters, Erin’s faith and loyalty to God, and much more. Melody does a really good job packing so much plot in a small book that is fun and easy read. This book does a great job ending the drama found and started in previous books. The ending seemed a bit rushed, but the book overall and the ending was great. Highly recommend this series and I definitely would have loved more from this series.

I really loved this whole series. It actually really helped me grow in my faith and it taught me many things about the fashion industry and it helped me realize what kind of person I want to be. The one and only reason I didn't give this book all five stars is because it drove me nuts that the series ended on a cliffhanger. :) Typical ending to a book, but I really wanted to know more about Erin and Paige's story. I encourage you to read the books!!

Fabulous! Erin and Paige is saying goodbye to a lot of things such as old romance, old life and many more but they are also saying hello to a lot of things to such as a grown up life, a new beginning, new romance especially for Erin, and saying hello to finding out more about their self. I think Erin did succeed as being a mediator between Fran and Mrs. Bishop and if I was in the kind of relationship I probably would of done the same thing that Erin did. I think having the kind of relationship that Paige and Erin have works really well because like they always say that opposite attracts. One trait that I see rubbing off on Paige is being more responsible. Yes, more than Paige's fashion sense rub off on Erin. I think Paige did a great job confronting Eliza because she did it in a responsible way and to be honest I think Paige deserves to get revenge on Eliza. If I was in the situation that Erin was during her blind date I probably would of just said that I needed to leave and tell them that today isn't a good day to do it. I think the show On the Runaway represents fashion for teens. The Forrester sisters changed in many ways such as their relationship and how they are more like friends than sisters because they can tell each other anything. To me I think Paige changed a lot but I think that Erin changed more because she learns to get out of her comfort zone. No, actually it never changed my perspective of Erin when she and her mom talking and she mention that she might have a commitment issue and it explained a lot of Erin's action toward Blake and Gabin. I think her advice to her friends regarding their relationships only a projection of her own fear of getting hurt again because its seems like that she always judging her friends relationships. If I were Erin, to make molly feel more included I probably would try to spend a lot of time with her and invite her to all of my fashion trips.Yes, this change does speak to her growth as a fashionista and it does in a positive way because she's expressing her self more. If this series was told in Paige's point of view (POV) I think we would of seen too much of her opinion on fashion than on what her sister opinions making the book less enjoyable. The theme of the book is : You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time; The truth which has made us free will in the end make us glad also; Actions speak louder than words; Growing up is a challenge for everyone; When in love, one must suffer; Love is a force for happiness and fulfillment; People are afraid of change but things always change; Things are usually not as bad as you think they will be; It is impossible to be certain about things; Believe in yourself. To succeed, we must first believe that we can; Things are not always as they appear; Look before you leap.

Overall I was disappointed in this book. It's hard to say how much of that is because I was expecting something different, but regardless, I can only call this okay.

First of all, I do think my enjoyment was diminished somewhat by not having read the previous books in the series. It took me a bit to really understand the relationships, but even moreso, it took me a while to really care about the characters. Honestly, I'm still not even sure I totally understand, for example, Erin's (the main character) role in her and her sister's show. I guess she works a lot behind the camera? But also in front of the camera? How they got their show is equally lost on me. However, by the end I was cheering for Paige at least, so that subplot did draw me in.

The book was not as glamorous as I expected. It centers a lot around morals, particularly Christian morals, and some more serious situations (pregnancy or really young motherhood, cancer etc). While that's all very well and good, I do think entering the series so late hurt my connection to all that as I found it difficult to care. Also I'm not much for religion or God in my fiction, so that was sort of a bummer to me though I do applaud Melody Carlson for not avoiding this issue, which is obviously important to her.

In the end, this book was neither interesting enough, sophisticated enough, or fun enough to leave me wanting to read the others in the series. I did whip through it in just a few hours though, so I think people who may be more moved by Christianity and sort of slow plots than me might find some enjoyment in this book on a lazy Saturday afternoon.

Okay, so as I'm sure all of you know I really struggled with this series. While I was reading, it was good, but when I put it down I realized how much I actually hated it. I'm just not that into fashion. I don't care about Prada and Gucci. That's my cousin's department.

This book was good. I'm not going to say it wasn't because it was. It was just a kind of bad ending. I don't feel like the series ended. It felt like the endings of the other book. Like you should expect another book. But because this one was published back in 2011, you know that it's done.

If you're reading this, I'm going to assume that you've read the rest of the series, so I'm going to spoil you for the rest of the series... You have been warned.

Okay, jumping right in, in Glamour they were in the Bahamas. Dylan stayed at Eliza's hotel while Hurricane Bruce was going on. They claimed that nothing happened. But in this book, we learn some of Dylan's dirty little secrets. He's not as good as he appears to be.

Oh, and Gabin's back!! I love Gabin. He's one of the few pluses of this series. Any guy who calls his crush/girlfriend/love interest a pet name in another language is my kind of man. Mollie was good, Erin was okay, Paige was her usual bratty self. Blake was a complete jerk and I just filled you in on Dylan.

Gabin really is the reason I'm giving this a three star rating. If it wasn't for Gabin, it would be a two. In my personal opinion, it was the worst book of the series. It didn't hold my interest. There was barely any Milan in it. It was horrible. I don't think I'll be rereading this series any time soon.

It seems as though this maybe goodbye to our On the Runway cast Paige and Erin Forrester . In Ciao which by the way is Italian for Goodbye , we see the girls off to Milan eventually but not before heading to New York. So , what's our favourite characters been up to as it feels like a while since Ive read a On the Runway novel. Paige's engagement to Dylan has been called off or is it back on as at the end of Book #5 in the Bahamas we read as Dylan stayed the night in Eliza's room , though Dylan swears black and blue nothing happened, his actions and Eliza's words speak otherwise. Can Paige and Dylan work things out or is this the end of the happy couple ? Benjamin Kross and Blake are about to get a taste of their own reality show and it's move over On the Runway and Hello Celebrity Blind Dates. Is Blake ready for the big screen ? Fran's leukemia isn't going well but thank goodness that they have found a bone marrow transplant for her , as she goes in for surgery - will the results be positive or is it sad news for the On the Runway cast ? Paige and Erin's mum is over the moon with her new husband Jon but when she leaves Channel 5 News to help step into Fran's shoes - can she switch between the roles of Mother, Parent to Producer/Director ? Mollie , is the proud mother of a baby girl called Fern -she should be happy but Mollie is suffering from a case of PPD - Post Partum Depression aka Baby Blues , can Erin get the help Mollie needs ?
Find out all this and more in Ciao -On the Runway by my favourite Christian Author Melody Carlson

Anyone that has ever read a Melody Carlson book absolutely loves them. I am delighted to read the young adult books that she has written.

Ciao is the final book in the "ON the Runway" series. Milan is the destination for a much needed break.

I am so pleased that more and more authors are reaching out to our youth and this is one series you will be proud to share with young adults in your life. Melody Carlson has a way of reaching her readers with such a graceful touch.

This series is filled with fun and surprises and should not be missed.
There are six books in this series and although 6 is the final book you will wish for number seven.
GLAMOUR - Sink or swim?
SPOTLIGHT - Feeling the heat.
RENDEZVOUS - Lost in translation?
CATWALK - Big Apple. Bigger Problems.
PREMIERE - A recipe for success or a design for disaster?
CIAO - The sweet life might just turn sour.

I plan to buy this series to a friend’s daughter one at a time sending her a new one every other month, just for fun. Who knows this might be the one gift that might last her a life time, a love of reading.

I loved the series “Tales from the Grace Chapel Inn” this is a series for any age, one that you will not only enjoy but one that will stay with you long after reading them.

Thanks Goodreads! Ciao!

ON THE RUNWAY: CIAO
By Melody Carlson

Reality is an illusion as Paige and Erin Forrester are about to discover.

Paige is basking in the limelight of her TV career in fashion - she hosts and stars in ON THE RUNWAY, travels the world, and is engaged to rising fashion designer Dylan Marceau. Can life get any better!

Meanwhile younger sister Erin, who also stars in ON THE RUNWAY, is worried about her friends. Mollie a new single mom is dealing with the choices she’s made. Her maybe boyfriend Blake is caught up in his new reality show. Fran is fighting Leukemia. And Erin is always concerned for Paige and her relationship with Dylan. But through it all Erin leans on her faith in God and always Him to lead her and to give her strength to help those who are dear to her.

This book will appeal to teens and young adults who follow reality shows and the fashion industry. The behind the scenes look at the lives of people who “live the life” should give anyone pause who desires it. What you see on the camera is not real, but is in fact an elaborate illusion created by those behind and in front of the camera.

CIAO is a good read with a thoughtfully delivered message!

Ciao is the sixth book in Melody Carlson's 'On the Runway' series. It was the first I had read and yet it wasn't in any way confusing. The storyline is easy to follow and the characters aren't too hard to remember. I think the cover is perfect for the story too.

The book is set in Milan during its fashion week and the protagonist Erin is running around trying to get footage for her and her sister's fashion television programme. There's lots of glamour and reference to top designers but it didn't feel very new or unique.

Apart from fashion, the other main theme is romance but it wasn't captivating or true love. Paige, Erin's sister, and Dylan, her fiancé, are together for the majority of the book at parties and restaurants but their relationship seems forced and faked.

The book is published by a Christian publisher and so references to God shouldn't be unexpected. However, Erin's religious mentions are out of place and incredibly sporadic. She was the only character that alluded to religion and it didn't feel as if it fit in properly with the story at all.

Nevertheless, the book although not riveting is a light read that's a great addition to a kindle on a summer break. I don't think fans of the series will be disappointed.

I haven't received my copy yet, just received notice I had won. 11/28/11
Received my copy but haven't started yet. Have 2 other wins in front, plus I snuck in a book I received from my Secret Santa. Hope to start it soon. 12/19/11
Started 12/31/11 and finished 01/01/12

Paige and Erin are sisters that do a fashion show for TV. In this installment, Paige's engagement to Dylan is on the rocks. There are rumors spreading around the world of fashion of unfaithfulness, and Erin is worried her sister is going to get hurt. Erin is also confused of her own feelings towards Bryce.

I was a bit apprehensive about reading this book because I hadn't read the first 5. It stood alone enough that I could understand what was happening. In my book club we have talked about how characters are either in their teens or in their 30's or above and there is very little written with main characters in their college years or early 20's. This book is great for that. I also wasn't expecting the faith aspect that was in the book. I liked how the author didn't overly preach but did mention God and Faith and Prayer just like it was an ever day thing.

Ciao is not the type of book I would pick up and read on my own. I won this in a giveaway, my edition's an advanced reader's copy.

That being said, it was pretty good book. A little under 200 hundred pages I read this all in one day - it pulled me in enough that I wanted to know what happened and I finished it before bed. I haven't read the earlier books in the series, but that doesn't make it difficult to follow at all. Sometimes there are references to things that happened previously, but I never felt lost or confused.

I'm not a religious person either, but I liked how Erin practiced her faith. It was not overbearing and it was quite nice - asking others to pray with her is something I respect a great deal. Even though I don't practice anything, I don't mind praying with or for someone. It's a great positive to add to your life, so even if you don't believe in a higher power, praying can make you and the person you are praying for feel better. It's nice to know you are in someone else's thoughts.

For the crowd that likes YA romance with a bit of drama, this is a good read.

I won this book courtesy of the goodreads first-reads program! Thank you goodreads!

Overall rating 3.75

This book was a very quick read (like one day) once I actually had time to sit down and read! In spite of it being part of a series-On the Runway- that i haven't read, (and probably like number 6 or 7), I enjoyed it. I won't deny being lost about things and characters that happened in previous books that were mentioned a LOT. But the writer is talented and I love fashion so the fashion/designer talk made up for that. When I registered to win it, I didn't realize it was an advanced number in a series. I am glad I got to read it and will probably check out the previous books in the series as well.

This story focuses mainly on Paige's relationship with Dylan and his fidelity, or lack of it possibly. Erin is the more grounded and moral sister and tries to be of help to her friends and family. She has her own little drama with Blake and whether or not their relationship is going away. As part of their reality show they take several trips to cool locations. If you are already a fan of this series, it won't let you down.

I won this book in a first-reads giveaway. It looked like it might be an enjoyable, non-standard, Christian-based novel that I would find interesting. While those aspects were present, I ended up finding the story unrealistic enough that I enjoyed it less than I had hoped.

The main character, Erin, just never felt real at all to me. Wise beyond her years with well-established moral values and religious beliefs, a recognized television personality, and a mother figure to her older sister, Erin just came across as a little bit too make-believe for my taste.

As much as I struggled to relate to the characters, I did appreciate the originality of this book. I did appreciate the Christian themes and values expressed throughout the story. I came away from it thinking that religiously-minded, adolescent girls would probably love this book.

In this conclusion to the On the Runway series we see Paige and Erin Forrester traveling to both New York City and Milan for their show. Fran is undergoing further treatment for leukemia which prevents her from directing the show but the girls' mother steps in to direct On the Runway taking time off from her news directing job. In the conclusion we do discover if Dylan has been cheating on Paige, his fiancee. The ending is more like real life where the ending is not always the one that we had been expecting. Erin's friend Blake is starting a reality show of his own with his new friend Benjamin Kross and we do see Erin's reaction to the new show. This is a good series for teen girls to read who are into fashion and/or reality television. This is a good and wholesome series where Christian values are emphasized in the series.

Erin and Paige are struggling to keep their relationships together as they head to Milan for fashion week. This was a good book. I'm kinda like Erin when it comes to fashion; lost. But, girls who are interested in fashion or how reality TV is made will be very interested in this book. Also, a fashion enthusiast would be very happy with the cloth descriptions. I wasn't to fond of the way the girls handled some sensitive issues. It just seemed to wrong way to do it. I also wish there had been more Christian elements to the book. Still a good book that girls can enjoy.

Disclaimer - In exchange for an honest review, I received this book for free from the publisher, Zondervan, through the Z Street Team.

I was so excited to find out how this series would wrap up, and then it was just kind of.... over. I thought the Carter House Girls series ended really abruptly, though at least we got to see the fates of some of those girls in this series. (I want to know what happened with DJ and Casey, though). But unless she has another series planned where the main characters might run into Paige and Erin someday, I am saddened that this is the end.

"Ciao" continues following the careers of Paige and Erin in the fashion world. Paige enjoys the limelight of hosting a t v fashion show and is engaged to fashion designer, Dylan Marceau. Erin, also part of the t v fashion show, worries - about Paige and her relationship with Dylan, her friend, Mollie, a single mom, her friend, Fran, who is fighting leukemia, and her own relationship with maybe boyfriend, Blake. Erin depends upon her faith in God to guide her and to give her the right words to say to her sister and friends when they need her advice.
"Ciao" is a light, interesting look at reality t v shows and the fashion industry.

I received an arc of this book for free through Goodreads First Reads and was skeptical about it at first because i had no idea what it was about and then i realized it focused on fashion, a subject i have no clue about.

Overall, i really liked the book. I the only thing i hated was how short it was!!! i could have kept reading it forever. For a somewhat short book, it sure had a lot of twists and turns. Once i picked it up and started reading it, i couldn't put it back down. It was a very thorough book and i can't wait for the next one to come out!! eeeeeekkk!!

Also, the characters are awesome. SO if your look for an awesome, quick read, i recommend this book. =)

I received Ciao by Melody Carlson as a winner of Good Reads first reads. Thank You.
This novel was an easy read. The story line was easy to follow, and very interesting.
I don’t consider myself an advanced reader, but I think this book is more suited for young readers. This story is an excellent combination for a young reader. It is filled with fashion, love, and family. It also explores how life can be unexpected with deceit, betrayal, illness, and unexpected new friends.
This is an excellent book for girls.

I received this book through the First Reads giveaway program on Goodreads and gave this to my sis as a present, as soon as she reads it I will post!

Sadly, my sister was disappointed with this book that centers on faith and morals that have nothing to do with their faith. She thought that entering into the series with this book didn't change her dislike of this story and feels she would probably dislike them all equally.

It's strange. I didn't like the whole religion aspect, but after reading through the series it was there and visible but acceptable and understandable. It has definitely lowered in intensity for me since the first one, and I'm glad, because the story overall was something I found interesting even though I have no clue about fashion.

I'd read more if there was more. This is a nice short series that covers many topics without just mentioning them but getting right into it.

I really enjoyed this story. I love how Melody Carlson weaves her stories with wonderful life lessons. This book speaks about trusting God and the importance of family as a ffew examples. The basic storyline is about two sisters who are on a reality tv show about fashion. A delightful read aimed at young adults.

I didn't really care for this book. The plotting was unrealistic and the writing had a slightly amateur tone to it. It was an okay book for younger girls, but older readers might appreciate something with a little more substance.
