I have a young family member diagnosed with cancer, meaning I’ve experienced the fear and anxiety such a diagnosis brings. Knowledge and understanding helps to fight fear, so I’m grateful for this book. Its 56 chapters are written by a large pool of experts, and skillfully edited so that there’s a certain unity of voice in the whole. I appreciate the concise and matter-of-fact style which helps me easily digest one chapter per day, no matter the amount of worry in a schedule that is too full. The copyright is year 2000. In conversation, one chapter's author called it, "ancient history," and, yes, it could use an update. I still find it to be an excellent guide for the journey through childhood cancer.
