*"Vanity of vanities
*All is vanity" could easily have been the epigraph of this book of poems mainly dealing with the
*Numbing & loss of love
*In a relationship
*Slowly ending or ended.
*Heartbreak
*Is Poetry's theme par excellence,
*Not to mention the
*Grief

*That goes hand in hand with it. Patten
*Relayed the poignant experience & the rite-of-passage-like survival/aftermath of
*It with his trademark Mersey Sound style. This
*Collection is
* Kaleidoscopic in variety for such a slim volume; & although there were lines that impressed & stood out for me, it wasn't as impactful as ARMADA was as a whole.

i tend to read poetry books in a non chronological order so began doing that with this one and was enjoying it (sleepy, the one about who his poetry is for lol, and the mistake are brilliant) then decided to read again in a linear fashion for whatever reason and noticed some poems i hadn’t before that irked me. dressed and embroidered butterflies just gave me creepy vibes and maybe that’s just me but whatever. so idrk what to rate this book so those 3 stars are kind of accurate but closer to the truth are actually 3 question marks.
