Expected more!

I started this book as part of my May reading challenge, but unfortunately, I had to put it down at 75%, which broke my heart. Hear me out; I expected more from this story. Don’t get me wrong—the writing style was good, but the main female character frustrated me with her foolishness. The detective also came across as incompetent, leading me to question whether the author did any research on detective work or how a detective handles certain cases. I was lost. As I mentioned, I truly expected more; the title was gripping, but I couldn’t finish the book. Would I recommend it? No, not unless you want to lose a few brain cells. Sorry, not sorry!

Yes, it’s a slow burn at the beginning because you get to know the characters and what they’re going through and but towards the end, you’re like what happened and you want to get to the next book

From the very beginning this story captives you, entrancing you, and keep you begging for more!! As the story unfolds and the characters come to life you are hanging on to your seats wondering what is next!! It is also a story of survival, overcoming abuse, and learning to be courageous without fear. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a good read. It is a series definately to have.

I loved the suspense, grittiness, danger of her stalker & shadows lurking around every corner. I loved the anguish & the naive Personality of Mariana, and watching her slowly grow into someone who starts to defend themselves. This was a fantastic dark romance, psychological thriller that had me gripping my seat

Mariana is having a hard time with her Boss, who constantly bothers her, hitting on her whenever and wherever he can, until he oversteps the line one evening. Harassing her at a firm party, she finally sued him, but lost the case. Broken and devastated, she leaves the firm and accepts her friends' offer to move in with them, but that doesn't stop her boss; instead, he continues to write her emails. One day, he got the chance to kidnap her....

The writing is a bit dry, I would have loved to see more tention between Mariana and Carl, little moments where it gets heated. It's missing out, but the story is good. Looking forward reading book 2

roller coaster of emotions

Excellent read that left me trying to figure out who did it and why. A roller coaster of emotions, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series because I have questions lol. I definitely recommend this book and series!
