This was a tough one…There is a very good intent to encourage us, living people, to embrace death and heal our souls by knowing death is not the end but its just a different form of existence. Spirits of our loved ones see hear and follow us. They want to send us messages to lighten our grief. I get it and i love the message but i had to skip some of it because it was too emotional…its really hard to connect with this message with brutal losses especially with Sep 11 Tragedy…I am glad I read it but i dont know if it changed my fear of loosing my loved ones…or how i see death.

Its fun to read the advice of the dead people, would have liked more of that.

Some points I noted:

1. The observation about the screwed up drug addict, that he was getting a big payoff from being the person everyone in his family has to deal with.

2. "Whatever you fear controls you" and "worrying doesn't change the outcome."

3.The rich guy whose "entire existence was driven by purely material values."

4."Our human needs are certainty, variety, significance, connection and love, growth and the need to contribute beyond ourselves." And of course some cash for food and shelter.

5. Gangs (and I'd included ISIS) fulfill the above needs for their members.

I found this book very engrossing, and I think the main reason is that the author is very no-nonsense about her experiences and her talent. She's not fluffy in the slightest, doesn't bullshit, has some great insight to share, and if you can stand her slightly preachy stance towards the end, you'll get alot out of it.

The flow of the book was a bit choppy, but the message was loud and clear. It's an engaging read. I thought about keeping it and reading it again, but I think I will just read Lysa's other book instead.

I really loved this book. This psychic talks to dead people. Lysa Mateu is really funny in her writing style. She states that spirits are all around us-and give us thoughts. I must listen.
