The Cube is an ancient game that gives each player a different message. Keen to exploit this enigma, Arian Ruri joins several friends in conducting a self-serving ritual. Their actions have unintended consequences, causing reality to unhinge. Like earthbound gods, Arian and his friends discover they can access inner reservoirs of magic. Rather than bringing glory, the experience proves harrowing because they are ill-prepared for the mind-jarring forces that are unleashed. When a stranger makes contact, a man who has mastered the power of The Cube, help seems guaranteed. But has the stranger come to offer assistance or annihilation as the sea of surrealism reaches terrifying new depths? More than just a thrilling tale, CUBEOLOGY also includes the real-life Cube game, inviting you to enjoy an interactive experience. Play by yourself or have fun with friends, and prepare to be dazzled by the magic that awaits you.
Hmmmm. Ok, the best way to sum this up in my opinion is to say that this book is like the small baby of a book that could have been mind blowing. It had a great premise, this book could have gone anywhere and was philosophically and psychologically deep...in some parts. In many other parts it was confusingly shallow. Like the author thought a lot about a great idea, but it just didn't pan out in character development, pacing and dialogue. I know that sounds like it was horrible, but it wasn't. It truly felt like a child of a book that could be awesome one day. I'm looking forward to seeing how this author develops in the future.
