I love this book. This is how my parents would teach my elementary school about diabetes. They used this every year and made it a huge activity. This book is educational, fun, and creative! Having a lizard with diabetes certainly helps elementary school aged children understand that their classmate has medical problems. However, the book does a great job of explaining that everyone is different, and with some understanding, diabetes isn’t a scary thing.
