This short introductory text de-mystifies the European Union's structures and operation. Blending scholarly expertise and practitioners' experience, the authors introduce and analyse the EU's key actors, processes and developments. The book's overall aim is to provide an accessible, lively introduction to how the EU works and why it matters.
I read the first two and a half sections of this book but then it was taken away from me by an airplane and the owner of the book who wanted to get on it.
I was interested in the EU as an experiment in global governance, the only way I see to deal with our increasingly global problems.
I didn't learn much about the EU in this respect though. The chapters I read were too bogged down in delineating treaties and institutions to deal with the more abstract philosophy of global governance.
I'll have to look elsewhere for my global governance fix.
