I have only read one-fourth of this book (in English): "Laura", by Richard D'Ambrosio. I came across this German collection and ordered it based on that reputation. Her story, and his story, are among the most moving examples of humanity that I've ever read. D'Ambrosio is a phenomenal clinician who writes with tender empathy for his patient, and the patient carries the day with her spirit and will to survive and prosper.
Reading this in German will take me some time! But I'm looking forward to it, and will post a review of the other sections when I can.
