I was pleasantly surprised by this book. The first half was a little tough to get into, but I found its overall discussion of how social media can be an important part of the mainline church to be quite hopeful.

Great orientation to a postmodern mode of mutual online sharing - as opposed to more of the same broadcast cattle calls. Drescher invites us back to the ways we already know how to value each other - by listening more than talking - regardless of the mode of communication.

This is a very interesting book about the history of communication through the lens of communication, community and leadership.

Though a little outdated (published in 2011), the connections Drescher makes from the current digital age to other points in church history are fascinating.
