There's a lot of useful info in this book, but it's focused on elementary and middle school classes. And while the content is research supported, it also may be a bit outdated. Finally, the content is repetitive, with passages in some chapters that are identical to passages in other chapters. Because Slavin is drawing on his own past work so extensively, I feel like he may have run out of ways to restate these fairly simple teaching strategies.
I'm a lecturer at a university, and I work mostly with freshman. There are techniques I may be able to adapt from this book, but it will take some work.
