Rate this book
Interment tells the story of four college friends who form a backpacking club , and lay out maps of National parks and National Forest lands, to find the most remote spot, away from civilization, for the longest day of the year, Summer Solstice. They've been doing this for several years, until one year, everything changes, and a mystery,a murder, and a strange conspiracy theory emerge out of an innocent annual outing. Out of the depths of the Ozarks comes a threat to our national security. The friends find out how little they really know about each other, and how buried emotions, and buried memories, can lead each friend to discover their own true journey in life, while protecting each other along the way, from an unknown enemy, who seeks their destruction, and that of our own nation. The future of our Nation may just rest in their hands.
The four friends are composed of two architects, Mason Gold- a brilliant designer from Alabama gifted with intuitive powers, and Katherine Gillen- a dyed-in-the-wool New Yorker from the Upper East Side, who moves to Colorado for graduate school, and stays for the outdoor wonders of it's mountains and forests. Jane Brown, a grad student in CU Boulder Law School, originally from Arkansas, with a native American heritage, loves the outdoors life in Colorado. The Harvard graduate, now a Law Student at CU, Griffin McNoble, otherwise known as "Bear" has little to no respect for authority, and challenges it at every chance he gets. It is his show of disrespect to the " wrong parties" that starts their journey into the back hills of the Ozarks, and envelopes them into a series of events that leads to the discovery of a force darker, and more deadly than any "simple murder".This story puts the quote, " There are no coincidences" to the test,BIG TIME.

I recommend it to everyone who enjoyed the fast pace of the Hunger Games. It draws you in right away & takes you on a rollercoaster ride with the four college friends who form the Backpacking club. You'll fall in love with the characters. It's a bit like "The Wizard of Oz" meets "Voldemort of the Ozarks".
