Application of R-GSCM in Residential Hostel of Technocrats: A Supply Chain Approach

Global competitive environment has diverted the firms to shift from traditional chain to a resourceful and environmental conscious supply chain. To explore the extent of research in new era it is important to establish the gap and performance measurement using statistical tools. The approach focuses on the student’s community residing at a hostel of a Technical Institute. The approach of the present research includes a literature review, collection of 143 short-listed SKU’s scrap data and random sampling of these SKU’s for its designated batch, expiry date and scrap date. The results highlights the range of actual life, life unaccounted with daily, monthly FMCG trend. Other parameters like waste weight trend, eco-efficiency and flow pattern are also analyzed. The results may be used for forecasting and good decision making in SCM.
